Hi,
I have been having a lot of difficulty installing Win7 SP1 so I uninstalled Eset Nod32. To reinstall the software would I lose an activation license? I have a 3 user pack and I want to keep the activations as they were and not lose them as I have another notebook I want to install the Nod32 upon... Thank you. |

You will not have any problems just make sure you have your License info to reinstall: (Username & Password)

Hello,
I would suggest that before you uninstall ESET NOD32 Antivirus that you download the latest version of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and write (type) your username and password down some place convenient. Then, go ahead and install the Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 as you normally would, and when it is done, reinstall your freshly-downloaded copy of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and re-enter your username and password credentials to re-activate your license. This would not be on behalf of ESET Support but from myself as I have noted many folks with Windows 7 operating systems are having issues installing Service Pack1 (SP1).
Run the options listed in the troubleshooter for those with issues installing the service pack. For addtional support, please visit the Microsoft Answers Forums Thanks.

I am not noticing an issues installing SP1. Then again, I didn't use the Windows update feature, but rather downloaded the SP1 pack directly from Microsoft's website and downloaded it that way. I have installed the SP1 on several machines so far. About 6 x64 machines and 1 x86 machine.
You can find the download here.

Appreciate your comments, Geosoft, but Microsoft prefers that Windows Update be the preferred delivery mechanism for Service Packs in lieu of a stand-alone installer.

Hello,
The mechanism for delivery of a service pack (WU, direct download, WSUS) should make no difference with respects to ESET's software. I would like to point out, though, that testing with Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is still ongoing. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

~Removed PM information per TOS~ foneil
Thanks. Turns out had nothing to do with Eset but with a driver cleaner software that removed standard nvidia drivers which caused the sp1 installer to freak. Was able to fix problem on one machine. My other one had no luck but not giving up! PS: No support for SP1 you say? What are we living under a rock? Thats the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. Either Eset gets with it or drops out... NO that is incorrect Microsoft suggest that a single user updating ONE computer uses windows update, becasue that uses less download resources. For more than one computer then the recommended method is to download either the iso of W7 SP1 or the .exe installer depending on the individual situation.

That means that for more than ONE computer the most appropriate way is to download the stand alone installer

Last time I checked, Derek, ESET Support wasn't Windows 7 support. Statements have been made to orginal query, as best as I can tell within the constraints of the ESET Board, and, as Aryeh Said, Window 7 SP1 is ongoing.
I have no further statement to you, in the matter.

Got three of four machines updated. Giving up on fourth.
Btw Microsoft recommends that for 'homes' use windows update otherwise the full installer instead. Doesnt matter how many machines. http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b...follow-up.aspx |
