I installed GPT disk manager about two weeks back. I formatted an external 2TB Seagate drive and copied some files into it.
Strangely for the last few days, I am not able to see the drives nor the files in it. When I go into GPT DM, I am able to see the drive and the partitions. But when I go into Windows explorer, I am not able to see any drives. I un-installed and re-installed GPT DM a few times to no avail. To double check, I connected the same drive to a Dune media player, and I am able to see the partitions, the drives, and the files. I use a Dell 8600 as my laptop and the GPT DM is loaded on that. The GPT DM now shows two partitions, when there are actually three partitions in the drive. Dune also shows three partitions and three drives. What am I doing wrong? Could you post here a screen of Windows Disk Management?
* right-click on 'My computer' and choose 'Manage'; * select 'Disk Management' in 'Storage'; * maximize the window; * click 'PrintScreen' key * paste the image and save it as JPG, GIF or PNG file;

Here is the information you are looking for:
Description Disk drive Manufacturer (Standard disk drives) Model ST320005 42AS USB Device Bytes/Sector 512 Media Loaded Yes Media Type Fixed	hard disk media Partitions 3 SCSI Bus Not Available SCSI Logical Unit Not Available SCSI Port Not Available SCSI Target ID Not Available Sectors/Track 63 Size 1.82 TB (2,000,396,321,280 bytes) Total Cylinders 243,201 Total Sectors 3,907,024,065 Total Tracks 62,016,255 Tracks/Cylinder 255 Partition Disk #1, Partition #0 Partition Size 99.00 MB (103,809,024 bytes) Partition Starting Offset 1,048,576 bytes Partition Disk #1, Partition #1 Partition Size 950.04 GB (1,020,100,870,144 bytes) Partition Starting Offset 104,857,600 bytes Partition Disk #1, Partition #2 Partition Size 912.88 GB (980,192,067,584 bytes) Partition Starting Offset 1,020,205,727,744 bytes As seen by Paragon GPT Loader is shown below. As you can see all the three GPT partitions are clearly seen by GPT. But, when I try to see the drives in Windows explorer, nothing shows up. |

You need to assign drive letters to the new created volumes.
* go to Disk Managment * Right-click partition on 3TB drive and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths. * Click Add, and select the letter you like , Click OK, and then click Close.

Thank you so much. That did work. But I am surprised that the drive letters that were assigned as part of the partition creation disappeared. Maybe that happened when I un-installed and reinstalled GPT.
Thank you once again. |

You are welcome
It's hard to say why Drive letters disappeared but such situations occur sometimes (regardless of GPT Loader driver)
