Hello, got persistent BSOD with this update today. Anybody else with this ? I restored an image and then istalled the package one by one to be sure. I suspect some driver conflict but I'm not sure.

Yes, until some kind of conclusion is drawn as to what the trigger is for this, stay far away:

Fortunately, you can go into Safe Mode and uninstall it to workaround the problem, but really, who's going to figure that out beyond the type of person who visits this kind of forum?

I wish there was an option with Automatic Updates to delay it by, say, a week. I don't use AU myself, preferring to wait that week or two to let things shake out before running WU manually, but I'm thinking of the average Windows user who should use AU, just not right away. This would be just enough time for MS to pull ones like this for retooling.

I like to use Belarc Advisor (their version 8.1p [8.1.16.7] went public today) to do the wise filtering for me on windows' security updates and to go manually download and install hotfixes I want (after a system backup) by using their each corresponding "detail" links.

Here is the last Advisor take on my 7x64 boxe's "Missing Microsoft Security Hotfixes":

These required security hotfixes (using the 01/11/2011 Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary) were not found installed.

    Q2296199 - Critical
    Q2305420 - Important
    Q2385678 - Important
    Q2387149 - Moderate
    Q2416400 - Critical
    Q2419640 - Critical
    Q2423089 - Important
    Q2436673 - Important
    Q2442962 - Important

Edit: Note that 2454826, 976902 and 890830 are not "advised" to install, as of yet.

No BSOD here (Win 7 x64). Installed fine. Rebooted fine.
