Where the heck you got 50 new 0-day malware? And merely testing 50 samples won't give you the exact picture..

Doing a full system scan helped build a cache of programs and now Panda is breezing right along on my computer.

Is it just at the first start of a program or also next times(since installation of PCAV/turning on behav. blocking and analysis)? Some security solutions analyze a program quite long for the first time to check if they are all right and then won't check again, unless it's checksums are changed, for example if they are updated or infected.

It's a pity that PCAV is getting some rough comments here, particularly as it is a free product and they are offering the Pro version for free for 12 months.

Yes, it is heavy in CPU time/I/O reads and writes but performance wise on several machines I have never felt any slowdowns. Further, unlike a number of other AV vendors they at least allow their product to be judged at the main testing sites and support here by Pedro is very good backed up by its own forum.

Those members not liking the program, move on to another AV and if you are not sure about the detection rate use a layered defense.

I'll always say, any decent free alternative is welcome. PCAV is no exception. I like it since it's minimalistic and does provide decent protection with very good reaction times. Then it's up to user to decide what he prefers.

well i have installed the pca free on nearly 100 + computers sine release 1.2, only 2 to 3 users complained about the speed issue or some other issue , rest of the users are very happy with PCA, so its not the issue with PCA its issue with the system, configurations and mostly running 2 or more security products togeather , and detection wise PCA is better than many titans, this is already proved by various independent labs

I thought Panda had already fixed this, so that one is able to recover a file that has been moved into the quarantine, No?

Yeah I thought now with the new unified quarantine/recycle bin all files can be restored. I had a FP once and I was given the option to restore, though I did not because I wanted to see automatic restore work.

I imagine from sources such as MDL. The problem with those kind of lists is that the domains change very frequently, some even fast-fluxing, so it is hard to keep up. Once detection is added, the malware has moved on to another location.
