    Hi All,
We have discovered a potential issue on Windows XP when using RVS 2010 and Microsoft Security Essentials. This issue does not effect Vista or higher versions of Windows.

A fix has been developed and is being for release in an upcoming build. In the interim, it is recommended that you uninstall MSE when using RVS 2010 until the new build is released for upgrade.

    Hi CR,
Not sure what you are getting at, but this is the Returnil support forum and the objective is to support our users and the use of RVS. In this particular situation, this thread is to alert users of this potential issue and how they can continue to use RVS as expected on their computers.

    Hi C

Sure thing, i was just suggesting that people can choose which option they might prefer, or suit them.

Anyway, hope you get it sorted soon, not that affects me, as i don't use MSE.

    Regards

Hmmm... Are you folks recommending redundant AVs? I have always read that that was generally discouraged due to conflicts arising from timing and priority issues.

Hi cybrguy and welcome to the forums. The RVS Virus Guard is designed to be compatible with most 1st and second tier AVs so there should be no issue using your current AV and RVS at the same time.

Mike, does the problem involving Returnil 2010 and MSE on WinXP exist even if one doesn't use Returnil's Virus Guard feature?

Yes, the issue still exists with the VG disabled. We should have a fix for this available soon...

    Hi,
Just a note to let everyone know that a fix for this is being tested with users who have reported this problem while using RVS and MSE together on an XP based system. Provided that the feedback is positive (looks good so far), the fix should be available with the next public release. Stay tuned...
