Exclamation Ultra Surf v9.8 detected as a Virus by NOD32?

How come, I have always used old versions previously, but you are forced to use the latest versions as here in Dubai, UAE, the old versions don't work anymore, so this time, when I updated to version 9.8, NOD32 detected it as a virus immediately! Win32/ultrareach is what NOD32 detects it as .......

can anyone download it using google and confirm it is a virus or a false positive?

Im using version 4.2.22.0 of NOD32 FTW

Hello,

This program is detected as a potentially unwanted application, not a computer virus.

Potentially unwanted application are programs that may not perform the types of malicious activities that one typically associates with a classic computer virus, such as damaging programs or altering data, but instead performs activities that the computer owner may wish to restrict. For example, at a company it may be acceptable for the IT staff to have password cracking tools to help audit for password complexity or packet capture programs to sniff traffic to look for network errors, but these would not be the type of applications an employee who worked in another department, say, sales or accounting, needed to run. As such, those types of programs could be classified as being potentially unwanted, as there are both legitimate and non-legitimate usage scenarios.

For more information about Potentially Unwanted Applications, and how to toggle their detection, please see ESET Knowledgebase article # 2198, "How do I configure my ESET security product to detect unwanted or unsafe applications? ."

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky
