I'm using the AV+ version for about a year.

There are very few pop-ups because the learning is done on set-up via the "Safety Check Wizard" which goes down the list of all your apps and programs to see which are already known by OA (the OASIS function keeps an ever-expanding data base of known good and bad apps), and only asks about unknown installed items. After the SCW has done its thing, the pop-ups occur very rarely afterwards. Great idea, in my opinion. Life is too short to keep answering the same questions again and again.

Even with Webshield activated surfing is very quick and light, yet I feel very secure behind the comprehensive protection that OA is providing, particularly with the AV+ module. I used to run NOD32, but no more; I do not use any other antivirus beyond OA's AV+.

I'm impressed with the overall progress OA has made in the time I've been testing it. I've used a lot of different firewalls, including those with HIPS functions, before, including ZA, ZA Pro, ZA w/ AV, Jetico, Kerio, and Comodo. I had Comodo on for quite a while, but really, the pop-ups and other high maintenence are a bit much for me. It's a good ap for sure, but OA does a lot of the grunt labor onto itself, and does it rather well I'd say.

I totally agree. I always liked OA but it could run a bit heavy at times. No more...this is very user friendly and fast now! I run it along with DefenseWall and use Avira for on-demand scans. My laptop has never run better.

I'm liking the .12 version. Runs light with no glitches.

The .14 version runs the same (or better) but with some minor bug fixes, though you may not notice all of them because they simply don't apply to your set-up. Give it a try.

Main download page has OA paid versions available, and it's being rolled out over automatic updates.

Free version is available on our site now as well, except for English one which needs our pals at download.com help - but a temp. download link is here:

I have to say this is the best release yet of OA Free 3.5.0.9 The program is light and gives very good protection. Great job Tall Emu.

Smile Nice Work!

I agree with IceCube1010. I did a clean install of OA Free, and it runs very light and without any hiccups. The new Exclusions addition is nice, too; I haven't run into any compatibility issues so far with AntiVir nor Steam. Absolutely wonderful! I just downloaded the trial of OA paid, and I plan to take it for a spin tomorrow.

Bug in OA Free 3.5.0.14

1) First you change your Windows theme, by manually clicking a visual style in Windows\Resources.

Then i get this:

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/240/82337749.png

"None wants to start automatically on your computer". Command line "none". Ulisses would be proud, but i think there is something wrong?

2) After you click "Allow" , without "remember my decision" ticked, OA's Gui goes nuts. In EVERY window, the checkmarks disappear:

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/3446/19065717.png

Not only they disappear, but even you click on them you see no new checkmark.
A reboot fixes this.

Ah, so I wasn't seeing things!!

The post of mine I made above yours was to ask you if you had considered posting this info on the OA forum so the devs can be made aware.

Then when I pressed to post your post had disappeared so I deleted mine

Yeah, removed it, because i hadn't put 2 of my usual preferences and repeated it just to make sure they didn't influence anything.

I posted the message in OA forums too. Although it's redundant since most mods and Mike read this too. I had forgotten my password there and had to reset it, i hate these things.
