1. Click on "Active mode". This is where you can change the compatibility of your Web browser; only if the need arises.

ON-DEMAND COMPUTER SCAN

1. Click on "On-demand computer scan".

2. Place a tick in "Scroll scan log".

3. Click on "Setup".

2. Move the slider along to "Strict cleaning".

1. Click on "Quarantine". EAV will rescan any Quarantine files after updating to new signatures.

EMAIL NOTIFICATION OF INFECTIONS ETC

1. Click on "Alerts and notifications".

2. Place a tick in "Send notifications bu email".

Enter the following details:

3. SMTP Server = the SMTP Server that is used to send email. This is generally the same "Outgoing" Mail Server used to send email from your computer.

4. The Username for your SMTP Server. Some Outgoing SMTP Servers require authentication, if this is the case then enter this here.

5. The Password for your SMTP Server. Some Outgoing SMTP Servers require authentication, if this is the case then enter this here.

6. Sender Address = Who you want the email to come from.

7. Recipient address = the email address where you want to receive email notifications generated by EAV.

4. As the information sent is anonymous, you may like to add your email address in “Contact email (optional)”, in case ESET would like to ask/advise you further about what EAV is sending.
