Default Will ESS Slow My Laptop?

I love v2.7 but i am about to upgrade to ESS for free,
im looking forward to it BUT the only worry that i have is;
i love how lightweight v2.7 is - will i notice any difference when i upgrade -
will my system be slower?
how have any nod addicts who have upgraded already found this to be?
