I am using V10.0 of Acronis TrueImage Home. I had the same cloning problem that a number of people in another posting complained about. I had pretty much given up on having a solutions and figured that I would have to clone from the startup CD. I got the tech support answer below and downloaded/installed the latest Acronis Driver Package. Not only did it solve the problem, but my computer no longer prompts me that it is done and to shut down the computer - it automatically rebooted by itself. This must be an updated driver package as many of you said that it didn't help solve your problem. Acronis just jumped WAY up on my satisfaction list. Thank you Marat!! Tom
Hello tschleis, Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software. Please notice that the issue usually arises when something (a newly installed third-party software, a Windows update, etc.) interferes with operations of Acronis drivers. Please make sure you use the latest build (4942) of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home. To get access to updates you should first register your software. If updating doesn't solve the problem, please download the latest version of Acronis drivers, unpack the archive and install unpacked MSI package. If the issue persists, please collect some information to let us investigate it thoroughly: Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Please make a screen shot of the Device Tree application the way described in this previous post. Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution. Thank you. -- Marat Setdikov |

I think the problem is resolved with Vista. I downloaded and installed the latest build of TI-10, and then created a bootable Rescue Disk (Full) on a flash memory device.
I then cloned my IBM/Lenovo laptop equipped with Vista Ultimate using the Ultrabay for the target drive. It booted correctly to the flash memory device, and the cloned drive was completed correctly in 10 minuts (a pair of 160 GB drives). One thing to remember for flash memory devices - in order for them to be bootable, they need to be in FAT 16 format. But, that has nothing to do with TI-10. ![]() Anyway - for the first time, I was able to do a successful Vista clone without having to run a repair reinstall on source or target drive. ![]()
