By the way , the latest report13 makes it much easier for AV-Comparatives readers to understand themselvers which are vendors1,2,7 and 8 from the test of AV support , June 2006 :D

    So, there aren´t "real" surprises.
I´m interested in the results of Ikarus, VBA32, ClamAV and ArcaVir (if it is tested someday).

... IBK, just a suggestion... how about doing a test using Free AVs... like AVG, Avast, AVS and AviraPE

Personally, I think when the report comes out, it might give someone like Eset reason to stick their chest back out. But hey, what do I know.

Here is my prediction for the secondary set:

    Ikarus - 90-93%
    Rising - 87-90%
    VBA32 - 85-87%
    CounterSpy - 85-87
    Una - 75-80%
    Comodo - 70-75%
    ClamAV - 50%

    ;)

    ClamAV 29%+ or - 10 percent
    CounterSpy 60% = or - 5 percent
    Comodo 65%=+ or - 5%
    UNA 70%+ or - 5%
    Ikarus 75%+ or - 5%
    Rising 80% + or - 5%
    VBA32 85% + or - 5%

Does anyone know the whereabout of ViruScape? It had once has a high score of around 93% detection, if I could remember correctly. Their spokesman in their last statement stated that version 2 was sold to anther company. Would that be Comodo? :p

There's no way in hell that they get more than 30% overall detection with On-Demand test. And just believe me, i've never been wrong with antivirus predictions :D

Wasn't the reason those programs don't participate in the "normal" test that they don't reach the minimum required 70%-80% detection?

the minimum required detection rate for av-comparatives is this year set to 85% (due the high demand to take part).

Like you already said a lot of months ago...

Melih, Comodo CEO, said that in a few time they will reach the highest detection rates, but I really doubt and said that maybe in 2 years or even more, because they have a very immature engine, needs to add a lot of signatures, experience, etc... :)

So, I don't have any doubt that you prediction will not fail...

I would like to second this suggestion. I don't think that this should be done as part of the regular comparatives, but as it's own separate test should be quite interesting. What do you think of this IBK?

currently no time, and as I do it basically for free, I am also not that much interested in spending efforts in doing it (atm). somewhen in future, maybe, who knows...
