The current virus database should be 168651. How come I have only 165855 ?

 

because its beta and compresses the files and takes out duplicates.

with the new anti-spam beta, i get a big update then an error message all the time.

anyone else getting this or is it just me, i might un-install and install from fresh without the repair.

the above error message appears whenever i click 'update' but it still updates, this now seems to be the only time it pops up... i wonder if it will pop up if it let it update automatically.

 

The same error message here, too. After restart the AntiSpam was greyed out......

i just clicked update and it downloaded LOADS and now no error messages

top SUPER FAST service.
they even sent me an email in minutes to keep me informed about whats going on.... keep up the superrrrrr work guys

 

it works a treat, if you configure your tag with outlook.

it successfully moved the spam to the folder i created, automatically.. no problems.

looks good.I have eudora tho.do u know how to configure it to work with drweb ?



Edit: It looks like drweb checks the mail but it does not move it to any folder ?

 

it will move the spam if you set it up, like i did in the image above.

if its similar to outlook, just create a message rule in eudora, also create a folder to send the tagged mail too, this is usually done by right click> create new folder etc.

and create your tag in spidermail > spam > advance.
this will mean your tag will be used in the emails if its spam or not and the rule will send it to the folder of your choice.

1) Open Eudora, and a create a folder called "spam" (or, whatever you prefer to call it)

2) Under the Tools menu, open the Filters

3) Make a new Filter that looks for SPAM

4) Under "Action" , choose "Transfer to: " and choose your spam folder.

just make sure in the settings in Eudora, that you input the tag you chose in your dr.web spam settings, so when dr.web tags that message, eudora will recognise it and move it to the folder you decided in the filter.

hope this helps, its hard to explain but very easy to do, i just make it sound complicated *lol*
shouldnt take more than 30 seconds to do it all

one of few betas planned, well this is just one of them ... how exciting

 

I must admit I'm rather intruigued by this chosen path by Dr Web. Are the claim that they make true; does the spam filtering capability only add around 1 meg to operating resource usage? That would be very interesting if that is the case. There are a few questions I have about it though. C.S.J., since you seem to be the in-house Dr Web expert, would you mind answering these if you can.

Does the antispam capability come with the "improved" beta engine?
Will SM ever have the ability to scan TLS encryped ports, namely gmail?

lol, i aint no in-house expert, just another dr.web user here voicing my opinions.

apparently it adds 1mb to the download, but the download size was the same when i downloaded it.

yes it will come with the new engine, i suggest these betas, plus im told there are more to come, i think, but not sure... that all these beta parts that will 'eventually' make up a version 5 of the software, but i think thats a while off, i think there will be another 4.xx release before that.

and the 2nd one, no idea... only staff can know that.

 

I ask because I use gmail and that would be nice to be able to control spam on client side. This is a feature that kaspersky offers.

 

like i said, you need to ask the staff really what they plan to do with it, im sure they will tell you.

 

This is a surprise and this is great news. I heard nothing of the DrWEB gang headed in this direction and if it works I say bully for them. I get more spam than any frying pan can handle. Off to download the Beta...

 

OK now to show my ignorance which download should I grab. Under Windows in the Beta site there are two executables a Beta ZIP and a key...do I need them all? One is 10400K and the other exe is 9400....I'm so confused...

if you go into the beta testing > file area > win > drweb-433-win-en.exe

it should be 9402k,

the 10mb+ one is in russian, which i dont think you want.. unless you do, choose that one *lol*

 

the antispam looks to be taking shape quite well.
does it put the dr web antipam in the title of outlook and outlook express by default?

nope,

you choose your tag yourself in dr.webs spam settings, then click ok

then create a rule in outlook in your message filter. (the same way you have to do with avg )

except, avg automatically tags email messages with [SPAM] whereas dr.web lets you choose your own tag, it could say anything like [THIS IS F'IN SPAM!!]
