Error Unpacking program

After installing Spywareblaster 3.5.1 on a Win98 computer I recieved the following error message when executing the application.

"Error while unpacking program, code 4. Please report to author."

Any clues?

I am getting this message on 3 Win98 machines, has any body resolved this problem yet?

I had the same problem. Found out I had a corrupted installation file.

1. Go to Control Panel "Add/Remove" and remove SpywareBlaster.
2. Find the installation file you downloaded and delete it.
3. Reboot computer.
4. Without starting any programs go to Javacoolsoftware.com/downloads.html, select a different download site and download install file again.
5. Execute new install file.

Program should run OK now.

Done that a half dozen times. Same result. Obviously not the problem.

 

Is there any suspicion of malware on your system?

Infections have caused this issue with others here in the past.

Not necessarily the case. Check the attributes of the installation program against the following (in particular the hashing values if you have any programs that calculate hashing values):
