It's been a pretty long time I'm on this setup.

    Windows 8 Pro x64
    - UAC always notify
    - DEP on all programs and services
    - ACL deny traverse/execute for everyone on downloads folder, desktop folder, and public folder
    - Deny execute access for all removable media classes
    - Disabled autorun and autoplay
    - Disabled some services
    - System image backup and recovery

    Online Armor 7 Beta
    - Custom whitelist
    - Disabled autotrust features
    - Enabled hidden process detection

    Google Chrome
    - Block third party cookies, keep cookies only until the browser is closed
    - Javascript whitelisting
    - Click to play plugins
    - Enabled malware and phishing protection

    Adblock Plus
    - EasyList subscription
    - Disallowed non intrusive ads

    Norton DNS
    - Malware and phishing protection
    - Set on computer and router

Not quite finished, however. Planning to upgrade to OAP when the time is right.

Yes I do...the only thing that is annoying is whenever it detects a threat (when testing) it runs a scan.
I like the av's that catch the threat quarantine's it and that's it.

I really don't think it's necessary, if the threat has been quarantined/removed why do a scan? There should be an option to allow it to do that or not.

Stable or beta? I had issues with v4 both stable and beta's so I am using 3.76 until all the kinks get worked out

Whenever WSA detects a threat it blocks and quarantines it. Then it runs a scan to remove any remaining threats. Now isn't that amazing and magical?:D You do wanna be safe and secure than sorry.;)

It should get rid of ALL the threats as soon as it detects them like most other av's

No,it's not magical.Avira has this behavior before WSA and i find it very annoying and useless. In fact,i thought that only Avira does this...good to know,i change my mind about trying WSA.

Well to each his own. No user will find a product 100% satisfactory. But not even trying out a product just because you don't like a certain behavior makes no sense. If the overall product interests you why not try it out?:)

It does by quarantining the threats. You do understand the difference between realtime and on-demand scanning right? You would rarely get infected normally. But when a threat does executes itself WSA blocks it in realtime. But there could be other threats lying dormant not executing themselves just yet. Scanning for them makes sense. And it's not always like that. Only when there is a threat detected in realtime. I think that kind of situation deserves an attention like that. And as threats are rarely found in daily lives it's of very little annoyance. I think that's securing.:thumb:

Like you said,to each his own.For me makes sense that the scanning after detection is useless, like i've said.

Now I'm playing with SecureAPlus. Maybe I'll keep it as AppLocker/SRP substitution.
