I don't know either - they say in the report that they only test vendors that are included in all other tests and I believe we are o_O I'll try to track down an answer :)

Just so you are aware, someone in the other forum section brought up the concern that Webroot was omitted due to extreme sub par performance...I don't buy that though.

Don't believe everything you read! If WSA was truly that bad why aren't people complaining that there infected in here or at the Webroot Forums? But Joe said he will look into it.

That's definitely not the case. I'm still chasing this around internally as we weren't aware this test even went on.

Update: It looks like we didn't sign up for this test this year as we picked a different "package" of tests.

I guess it's like when you go to the restaurant... different menus and prices are proposed.
They just picked up the menu that does not include the "dessert" :D

I don't believe everything I read, as evidenced by me saying, "…i don't buy that."

I was simply sharing the concern so Joe could debunk it before people over in Other Anti-Malware/AV start citing this as another bad WSA result.

Webroot got so bad results that they removed it so no one can see it.

They didn't get bad results. The score is actually 99.6% with 8.6% being user dependent. Remember this is at default settings.

For 'detection' i would give WSA the blocked and user dependent scores together as the software has detected malware. WSA overall 'detection' is good. For some users the high 'user dependent' pop ups will be fine, but i wouldn't install WSA on my nans PC, as she would panic at first pop up asking for a decision.

    Default is Block.
Message says to block unless they explicitly trust the program in question.

HIPS says "make up yer own dang mind about it all".

This says "This is probably bad. Don't do it, but you can if you really want to."

And SecureAnywhere continues to Win against Claudiu, who is so enthralled by it he can't get away. He shall never escape! He shall be forced to post about it FOREVER! I love it when a product has this kind of control over people like him. Especially since all his efforts to make it look bad do nothing but make it look better. XD

Is there a reason why Webroot hasn't automatically set user dependent blocks to positive detection? This has been discussed for several months now. I remember Joe saying the number of false positives for user dependent blocks is very low.

claudiu uses 'Utopia AV', it uses no resources whatsoever, updates in real time, even when not connected to the internet, has never missed a single item of malware ever or a FP & is only $10 for 10 PC's for a 20 year license.

It's queued to be released alongside a number of other changes soon, after we finish our internal testing.

Great to hear! But to this day I have never seen this pop-up for user interaction so to me it's no big deal.

You wouldn't if you don't download the stuff the testing organisation does. I too haven't seen this, and I'm not even on default settings.
