On November 1, 2010 Webroot announced that it had acquired Prevx. After the forum announcement was made here, speculation on the company's future, and the ensuing effect on the quality of the security product that many here at Wilders had grown to appreciate, began to swirl. The opinions ranged from new birth to death knell. The general consensus was to give Webroot time. "Check back in a year" was the popular refrain. Now, almost two years (21 months) since the acquisition was announced, it's time to take stock. Lots of ways to come at this, and you're encouraged to elaborate on your vote. But the poll choices are simple... Yes or No. Has Webroot improved upon the Prevx of old?

I stopped using Prevx on my computers very soon after the Webroot acquisition, and never tried the new product.
As a result, I can't vote from personal experience.
But I know that many of you can.

Let's see what are the results, personally i will not participate since i've never used PrevX extensively. (I'm talking about the original PrevX and the current WSA) :D

Rather than vote...I will just say that simplicity has given way to complexity.

Yes Webroot has improved upon Prevx since WSA has been introduced! Also all the Prevx team is now working for Webroot!

    1. Mel Morris is CTO - Chief Technology Officer. http://www.webroot.com/En_US/pr/exe...l-morris-chief-technology-officer-112211.html

    2. Joe Jaroch - VP Endpoint Solutions Engineering at Webroot Software. http://www.linkedin.com/in/joejaroch

    3. Jacques Erasmus - as the company's first chief information security officer. http://www.webroot.com/En_US/pr/exe...hief-information-security-officer-101911.html

And many more in the malware research and support along with all of the Webroot teams that I have gotten to know over the last few months! :thumb:

Of course it has improved, and will continue to, because, in essence WSA is Prevx 4.0. Same team (as TH said), with greater resources at their disposal...what could be better? The future is bright :)
