Actually, there are two ways to install other dictionaries (credits to MidnightCowboy and cheep as well).

First is via Kingsoft Writer: Tools > Options > Spelling > Custom Dictionaries > Add. Then import any .dic files you want.

Alternatively, if you want to replace the default dictionary, you can replace main.dic and main.aff at "C:\ProgramData\Kingsoft\office6\buildins". I've done it (after backups of course), and it really works.

Good dictionary sources include http://wordlist.sourceforge.net/ and http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/dictionaries (just extract the files).

With freeware confirmation from Kingsoft, this is near perfect and definitely something I'll keep using.

I've thoroughly tested it for 3 days, and it is a keeper. Even if I had to buy it in a year time I think I would. If there is a paying version eventually, what would be the difference with the free? I mean is this a promotion or just a free version?

thanks for your research but mozilla dictionary are OXT files, not *.dic, the other site is reach of link but no one is .dic
To change otx in .dic we need to change fomat to zip, then extract the file .dic present on the language folder
    http://useitfree.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/kingsoft-office-change-language-spell-check/
I don't try because I prefer SoftMakerOffice where you can change language (and GUI) easy and it is only 80 mb on my hd, but it seems it woks fine as you reported
But it needs a hard research on the net, this trick is not for everyone, normal users are cut off

Kingsoft must add a advertisement with this text
FOR ENGLISH PEOPLE ONLY, it was better, so people not english stay away and don't download a completly nonsense program, leaving servers free for english people downloading, and no energy consuption so WWF is happy:D

Why would you use a browsers dictionary on an office suite?

Have you even tried my method?

I install this suite 4 times (install and check for update) on 4 fresh install of windows 7 x64 sp1 french, and each time my taskmanager get hacked:oops: , i mean i just get a k letter for each process running the working set columm (private memory bytes).

If y try to run the windows monitor resources , it's the same no working set value memory appears
If i try to run process explorer or process hacker, they both don't show anything, even if i replace the original taskmanager.

Have you experienced this bug ?

Maybe the bug concern some local version (i mean language which is not supported by the applicationo_O ).

Of course if i don't install this suite, my OS run like a charm!

    ...............

Yesterday, I installed Kingsoft Office Suite Free and play with it some time.
Sad to say, but in my opinion, this free suite is almost unusable.
There is not possible to apply any formating setting on paragraph level.
All formatting apply to whole document - in my opinion it is crazy.
For example, I select one three lines long paragraph and apply center alignment.
After that whole document become center aligned. And so on.

I think, I didn't made any mistake when testing, but please check my
    observations.

    Best regards
    William

That would certainly make the program unusable for me.

I was using last release of Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012.
Installer has a (84.457 KB) size.
This is a second release issued when shareware version becomes available.
Maybe this make a difference, because in the same situation like yours,
    mine gives different results.
Also version comparition on Kigsoft's size told about lacking of formatting
    ability on paragraph level.

    Best regards

It seems, paragraph level formatting limitation are in actual Kingsoft Office Suite Free version 8.1.0.3010 downloaded from Kingsoft www page.

Older version 8.1.0.2942 dated 24 September is available on MajorGeeks.com
I will be able to install it and check everything by a couple of days, but I hope,
everything will be OK with this version.

Version dated 24 September are without described earlier problem with 1 year full funcionality period in version from August as I understand.

    Best regards

I made a decision to once more check Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012 8.1.0.3010, but unfortunately, I deleted installation package.
So, I go to Kingsoft www page to download it once more.
And surprise - today all dowload links indicate CNET page, but version available on CNET is 8.1.0.2942 dated on August, not September as staded in CNET description.
Everything is slightly misterious and strage.
    Let's see whats happened tomorow.

    Best regards

basically, i think a lot of the issues above are communication problems, and
maybe even translation issues. yes, a FREE DOWNLOAD or FREE TRIAL has
nothing to do with actual FREEWARE, but then i think we can help KingSoft
to sort this out. from the correpondance mentioned here i have the feeling
they are quite willing - correct me if i am wrong.

any of those of you already having contact with them, can you not point
them to this forum, and ask them to join? that would solve a lot of issues,
either way, fairly soon. for them, for us, for all customers.

and also help them to sort out bugs. like the very difficult uninstallation if
it is not on the C:\ disk (even REVO cannot get rid of it), or the following,
which makes it unusable on many computers:

    - the program resets the system settings of REGION AND LANGUAGE when
being installed. german systems for example use a comma for decimal
separation, and a fullstop for thousand-splits. example: 100.111.222,00

    - Kingsoft resets this to read, systemwide and in every (!) program and
instance, to 100111222.00 - totally unusable for most.

    - now, if a customer knows and finds it, this is easy to reset (SYSTEM ->
REGION... and so on) but many people simply dont know where to look.
    why should they ...

    - and here comes the hit: you then reboot, and all seems well - all
your progs show numbers the correct way. but then, use any of the three
KingSoft programs, and, bang, the system settings are back their way.

somebody in germany, in france, in spain or wherever might use the english
interface, might even like it, but still needs his individual settings as to how
numbers, dates and whatever are displayed.

absolutely unacceptable, with whatever arguments they come up to explain
this. a program that resets system settings is a total NO-NO. so OFF it goes!

-->> IF you can find a way to really uninstall it.

    greetings - heinz -
