The first question is is the antivirus limited which was the case in previous free versions? It's fine to not include advanced features in the free product, but it's unacceptable to reduce the detection capability of the AV.

Does it have anti rootkit? It was not available in the previous free version.

Nope. Only a harmless highlighted upgrade button on the bottom of the GUI. :) :thumb:

the only thing lacking from this free version is the behavious guard

The download appears to be "stub installer". I'm guessing it will download the latest version from PC Tools (can't try it to confirm at the moment).

ThreatFire should be there, that was one of the reasons for them to stop providing it as stand-alone

Stand alone ThreatFire is a bit outdated. It does its job mostly but one would prefer to see security app being a bit more updated.

Other than that i really like the new GUI. I wonder what's its detection quality now that Symantec has PCTools under their control.

I tried it out in Vm yesterday...the GUI looks good but is laggy....lacks many features from avast...it has a small update and a full update like norton does [ smart definations and full ] , the scans are slow
i tried it against a few links from mdl and other site it justc aught 2 out of 10 .. if the behaviour guard was there m sure results would have been different

There's not rootkit detection in this version, and it's extremely slow and laggy.
    Better use MSE than this.
    Or Forticlient Lite.
