If you click the red X button, it will hide the window.
The option for closing the GUI or the Service was never available.

wich red button ? dont who dont understand the other on or we did both !!

I use XP. I know how how to close a window, it is NOD32 i want to close sometimes, and not just virus and antispyware protection.

I did remembre we had "Close" in v4 icon tray options.

I recognize that my English skills are not good, so I will quote some words from Aryeh:

When gui is open, it's much easier to click the X icon in its right-hand upper window than moving the mouse cursor over the screen in order to right-click the tray icon and selecting Close from the context menu.

    you are all wrong

I want to close nod32, it is a easy question !!

Just like open MS Word or Win Media Player and close it. I want to close NOD32, not only a nod32 windows but with result of no nod32 icon tray, no egui and no ekrn in process !!!

In v4 icon tray we had this option, in v5 we dont.

    hope it is more clear

I understand what you mean piranha ;)

Though I don't remember how it was written exactly, but wasn't it something with "Exit...." or "Close...." :doubt:

:p hey hey, no I dont, i didnt need a confirm to know I was right but I appreciated yours. It is strange how some forget v4 rapidly. Must be enthusiasm towards the version 5 which makes lose memory  ;)

I repeat my question, is there a way to close nod32 v5

V3 not V4 had an option for closing gui. Selecting that option merely minimized the application to tray. The same effect can be achieved by clicking the X icon in the right-hand upper corner of GUI.

If you unload the user interface from memory, alert and notifications wont appear.
If you unload the kernel from memory, any protection will be unavailable.
    That doesnt make sense.

will I have to re-install v4 to prove my point !?? :thumbd: o_O

when we install some apps, it is recommended to close antivirus. With v4 we can do it, with v5 we can not.

there was a way to close v4, may be an other windows after disabling AV protection ?

If it was not in icon tray options, it was elsewhere, SweX remind it too.

May be disabling antivirus and antispyware protection looks like a closing..... I had to go Start, programs, Eset, nod32 to re-start it

if you choose "disable av and antispy protection" what happen after ?

ask password ? (if pw protect)

ask for how much time you want to disable ?

do you have the choice to close or exit in further windows ?

icon tray change color or disapear ??

    thanks

It disables AV protection and turns the icon red.

First of all what is the purpose of killing your AV?
There is not that option in v3/v4/v5 and does not makes any sense.
What really you want to reach or do in your computer? Maybe I can help you like many many past times. :D

Many AV's dont allow exclusions of processes, but exclusions of file access on-execution which is not the same. The only solution to this is to disable the realtime protection of X AV when using the realtime protection of the Y AV, unless you dont notice slowdowns.
