    Hello all,
I'm very pleased to announce that we've now moved to a public beta for Webroot SecureAnywhere.

We have received countless fantastic suggestions during the closed beta phase and we've been implementing them as they're received. With an open beta, everyone will now be able to discuss the features and comment on the opinions/experiences of other users.

It has been difficult for me to close so many posts in the last few months - we've never wanted to cut off feedback or discussion but we needed to keep the beta as private as possible until we were ready. We've now decided to start wider public testing. I'm quite excited to see the feedback here and discussions that will begin.

The Prevx and Webroot teams have had a vision of what we've wanted the ideal security product to be and while SecureAnywhere isn't finished yet, we believe it is shaping up to be exactly what we've always dreamed of.

You can sign up for the beta at:

    http://www.webroot.com/customerSupport/betaRegistration.php?lang=en

The current version is 7.9.0.1. If you've been a closed beta tester, you may want to uninstall and reinstall fresh with build 7.9.0.1 to ensure the installation is as optimized as possible.

I will be trying to respond to as many posts as possible but if you need immediate assistance, you may want to write into our customer support inbox for faster responses.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding while this was in a closed beta stage. Feel free to start other threads as wanted as that will probably be easier to manage.

Now, without further ado... let's hear some feedback! :thumb:

To new beta testers, you should bear in mind that some areas of the program are not yet fully functional; this is because optimisations, additions and further work of the backend are ongoing. [Example being search engine results analysis] As new builds appear, these components will become "active". :)

Will the link that I got when I first signed up for the closed beta work to download this version? Or do I need to signup again?

It should still work. I actually downloaded the installer again yesterday rather than wait for the auto update. The above link is obviously for new sign-ups.

Great news, thanks, so I understand that other beta won't update to 7.9, so you must sign up for this seperately? :)
    Thanks.

If you signed up for the Closed Beta the download link still works and you can get the 7.9.0.1 version if not you have to sign up with the link that Joe provided above!

The older 3.9.x.x series should still auto update to the newer version, but I understand it can take up to 24 hours or more. Some users had reported their versions hadn't yet updated and PrevxHelp did suggest letting him know if they hadn't after the timeframe quoted. However, it might be best to uninstall and re-install to start over.

Actually, the search engine result analysis should be in place and working for IE and FF, but there are indeed functions/features that are under constant improvement, and search engine result annotation is indeed one of those :)

Thanks for the testing, everyone :thumb: Seeing public feedback finally is very exciting!

Yes we are back to SecureAnywhere :) The name will make a lot of sense once we start unveiling some of the marketing and box designs which really help tie in protecting all of the user's devices, rather than just their Windows PCs.

I have that folder, but it only contains the app for v3.9.2.16....nothing else.

Perhaps I should wait to hear from Joe, before I proceed.

Correction: Nothing under Start> All Programs... but is in C:\Program Files

You can install the new version reboot and uninstall, reboot again and install a clean copy! As far as I know there is no removal tool for the Beta versions but Joe will have more info!
