I'm still running XP home SP3 on my rather antique desktop, and it's working fine for me. Like several others here, I don't anticipate going to a later version until my system gives up the ghost and I have to replace it -- plus, of course, there's no way current system could run Win 7.

I expect my system won't last as long as support for XP SP3, so no problems foreseen.

7 machines at home - 5 with XPSP3 and 2 (newer) with Win7, one Starter and one Ultimate. I can't afford to fix what ain't broke so I'm happy with the XPs and enjoying getting my head wrapped around the Win7s.:)

Still using XP Home and Pro (SP-2).

I will move to another OS only when XP no longer supports my favorite applications.

Why does that include IPhone, but not other mobile OS? Also Java ME doesn't seem to be an operating system.

    Very similar here.

FDISR for host switching/reverting. Technet Plus subscription, VMware for all OSs & XP as host OS.

XP's low overhead will have me sticking with it until i absolutely have to change.

When Windows 7 incompatibility issues are fixed and it becomes stable then I would use Windows 7 Enterprise...I think its the best of the batch.

XP Home 32 bit SP3 on my netbook, XP Pro 32bit SP2/3 on my Virtualbox VM's.

I like XP, it's comfy like old trainers. It seems a bit more 'fun' to lock down, too.

Various Linux and Vista on other boxes, depending on what I need/fancy doing.

3 notebooks: XP Home, XP Pro, Vista Ultimate. I like them all, I don't see why I should upgrade to Win7, however on a new machine Win7 would be my choice if the OS was an option.

XP SP3 on two machines, and I will probably make the move to a new OS within the year.
One motivating factor in wanting to migrate to Win7 is IE9.0. I can't have it with XP.
My computers are a bit long in the tooth, but I take good care of them (like my cars) and always aim for high mileage. :)

Was in Windows 98 2E since Jan./98 untill Aug./06 when I graduated to XP Pro and SP3. Will keep using XP until it dies. Probably by then will be too old and senile to really give a damn. lol.

Swex - Me too, but as you may know, wait until mid Summer for the new Lion OS. There's a hardware update coming shortly too I'm told. :)

XP here, with the exception of one laptop and a netbook. I'll buy new desktops, with the then current OS (7 or 8?), after the issues with USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s are resolved (primarily, I suppose, an Intel issue).

Im using XP pro-SP3, i have tried(last year) Win7, and i like it, but some of the programs that i use really often.. didnt work as good as they do on XP, so...
Maybe something its changed over the last year(sp1 for win7), so im thinking of giving it another try.

XP Pro all the way! Tho, I dual-boot Ubuntu, Mandriva, PeppermintOS, openSUSE and #! on most of the rigs at home.
Tho, whenever I get a (financial) chance I plan to upgrade my hardware first and only after that, switch to 7.

I don't need UAC to protect my pc, and I don't like 7 GUI. I use XP SP3 with the old CrystalXPNet Inspirat BricoPacks 1 GUI, that I like very much.

I have one XP-SP2 unit for the spouse and guests. The other PCs are dual and multiboot with XP-SP2, Win 2000, 98FE\SE and Linux. XP is not the default OS on any of them. I have no plans on "updating" to a newer Windows OS at any time. About the only thing that could change that would be for all of my PCs to fail and for no used ones to be available. Given the average lifespan I get from of a PC, 10 years or better, and with used XP units readily available, I don't forsee that happening.

You should have made this a poll. :) But I still use XP. Also, as far as the public goes, you'd be surprised at how many people still use XP. Plus, it would be interesting if some sort of count or estimation(from sales records or something) could be taken to see how many people still use XP(or lower) in contrast to how many people use an OS above XP.
