I have relatives using the Facebook version, and recently, for easier understanding of whatever issue they may be experiencing or any I may come across with (which I did), I started using it as well.

I reported a false positive for a Sandboxie beta version: fixed. Other than this one, none so far. Every antimalware application has false positives: that's a burden people need to accept. Prevx is no exception.

I've recently (today) suggested to change the way Prevx handles the HOSTS file, so that it supports the format I mentioned -http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=290616

My feeling: Either a new release will come come reflecting this change, or it will come out in version 4.
My experiences with Prevx and support has been great, unlike many other security vendors. Heck... many even are "destroyware". lol

And, there's a plus to them using SOL (Facebook version); it serves as a detection mechanism. It also offers a few malware prevention for minor stuff... But, Prevx did had a protection against this, for free: -http://www.prevx.com/blog/161/Windows-day-exploit-update.html

I wonder how many security vendors would do that, though?

Ah yes Zemana's reply to someone about their competition. Seems likely they would trash SS considering SS smashes them in the x64 platform.

I have removed Sandboxie due to licensing issues. I added CIS Complete with Def+ and Sandbox there with FF forced Sandbox.

    Win 7 x64 Ultimate Desktop:

    1. Using LUA account as default
    2. UAC at highest
    3. AppLocker with all rules, including DLL, enforced
    4. Windows Firewall with advanced security, inbound and outbound blocked by default, my own rules used in Public profile
    5. EMET, with mainly web-facing apps configured
    6. MBAM on-demand free (used sparingly)
    7. SuRun, v1.2.0.9
    8. Routine images of system using ShadowProtect RE disk
    9. All sensitive data kept on a TrueCrypt volume on h/drive and USB pendrive.

    Win 7 x64 HP laptop:

    Similar to above but...

    minus: AppLocker and SuRun

    Added: SandBoxie paid

    Dear Triple Helix,

Yes, I know what I am talking. Just check the Prevx forum and see how many false positive are reported. And, how people are discouraged to report these false positive on the Prevx forum and how quickly these threads are closed so no discussions can take place.

Recently, the following well known programs were reported on the Prevx forum as false positive.

    1. Sandboxie
    2. RoboForm
    3. Avast!
    4. EASEUS Todo Backup
    5. And, many, many more which are not posted on the Prevx forum.

    Enough said!

    Kind regards,

    KOR!

BTW, Prevx SOL (Facebook) maybe is great, but for an average Joe to remove these false positive he/she must pay. Though, the average Joe doesn't know that these are false positive and consider them genuine threats.

Excellent course of action. SypShelter is the best for key-logger detection software. A lifetime license for $32. Combine this with paid program but given free, the Sticky Password v4.1, there is no way anyone can steal your data or by mistake you logging into the wrong bank https url.

    Best regards,

    KOR!

    Dear Kernelwars,

As the old adage, there is no free lunch in life. The SOL is about $15 per year, the same functioning SOL (Facebook) is free. Great bargain!

Of course, the support has to be excellent for people who want to remove these ......

    Kind regards,

    KOR!

I will have to give SpyShelter a try. And I also have the recently given version of Sticky Password but I simply prefer using KeePass (free) but it could just be from my taste and out of an old habit! ;-)

Once our bandwidth is reset in a few days, I will be trying Ubuntu again (first time on this laptop; problems before were: driver issue on the desktop, inconvenient on my parent's laptop). If I do not start using Ubuntu as my primary operating system, my setup will look something like this:

    Windows Firewall
    LUA
    AppLocker
EMET (web browsers, media players, PDF reader)
Sandboxie (whether Firefox and others will be sandboxed all the time is unknown; more to be able to delete everything a file created at the touch of a few mouse clicks)
    AdBock Plus
NoScript (allow scripts globally/allow top-level sites by default; forbid plug-ins for all sites)
    Hitman Pro
    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    Norton Power Eraser
    Windows Backup and Restore

All fixed within 24 hours and it is because they where program Updates or Beta's many other AV & AM vendors pick up Prevx on new releases for the same reason so nothing new there  And we close False Positive reports as the Forum is for Product Support only if there are any possible FP's you have to follow these instructions: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=245129

PSO Facebook version is for one's who want to protect there Credentials and online Banking & Shopping even if there infected I think it's a great app for free worth $15.00US! So if you would like to continue this discussion come on over to the Prevx forum because this is as far as I will go off topic here! ;)

Removed : Comodo IS (updates are only there to dump some thousands of toolbar- and other shady "vendors" in your trusted vendors list, making sure their friends' toolbar can have carte blanche on users systems....)
    Added : Malware Defender

I was. I had an issue with Sandboxies licensing. Rather than talk to Tzuk about it I switched to CIS Complete to finish out the remainder of my 1 year license.

Other than Sandboxies Licensing I had absolutely no issues with the two together and everything was light as a feather.

Short and to the point. Is AppGuard much trouble to configure or with pop-ups?

I'm trying Prevx SOL again for some real-time protection.
