I am also having this issue. It has been present in all builds of ESS 4.2. I think I may have narrowed it down though. I have four systems running ESS 4.2. The sleep mode lockup only seems to effect the systems that have a Gigabit network connection to my LAN. The 100Mbps desktop and wireless notebook can go to sleep just fine. I hope this helps.

I have been having an issue with our laptops which don't hibernate or sleep... and we use ESET SS v4.2.58 and they also do have gigabit ethernet cards in them... maybe this is the cause!... i will test by removing ESET and come back...

I have just used the uninstaller tool and folled the instructions and i have just done 8 sleeps/hibernates without a crash/hang... this was without my network policy but i did test it when i uninstall/reinstalled the product and it didn't work... so maybe the key is to use the uninstaller tool and remove the directories...o_O... Let you know how i get on!

Yep, the problem is gone :) Seems that Dropbox was the issue.
Funny thing is, that the problem wasn't there, with NOD32 installed.
Anyways, I'm glad that the problem is history now :thumb:

    Cheers

So, it is a dropbox issue or does this mean that both ESET and dropbox both work together successfully?

    Good day,

I am very glad that this has been resolved although it has taken quite some time. In some cases that is to be understood and I will not be the judge of that without perview to all the relevant information.

I am about to finish my preliminary research on the ESS product and the support it receives from Eset before purchasing ESS. The solution to this issue comes just in time before I would have dismissed the product due to time constraints.

    This is good news indeed.

    Best regards,
    Páll.

    Hallo

problem has gone with new version though I haven't installed dropbox.

So the issue isn't only caused by dropbox or VPN.

Many thanks for solving the issue.

Old thread, but wanted to add that Mrs reports the netbook is hibernating without a problem on the latest build, and yes she does have dropbox installed on it.

Weird that, that combination caused that issue.
