There's no fixed number of updates, they're pushed out as required.

Some strange bugs on this one. I posted the bug of msi file not alerting and installs right through on their beta forum. If you choose Run instead of Save it bypasses CIS. Saving it to desktop and double clicking it then it gives alert to sandbox.

Also tried another link from MDL the spm2.exe and the AV picked it up I chose clean. I tried the same link a second time the AV missed it and it installed right through. Infected taskhost.exe and when going to summary page in CIS you can see D+ intrusions alert keep adding up. Some temp files created by spm2.exe got put into trusted files. Very weird.

Are you using this version? 5.0.158836.1079
If you are using the old one I think that this problem have been already fixed in the new beta 5.0.158836.1079

Yup its the new beta. 1079. You can try it out yourself. Just go to MDL search for msi and the pcdefendersilentsetup.msi if you choose run instead of save it goes right through, I'm using IE8. I'm on proactive security default settings.

If you save the msi to the desktop or wherever and run it then the alert pops up to sandbox. So the bug is half fixed.

I sure hope not! The firewall and defense+ are still broken :doubt: and COMODO has a reputation for rushing things :D

If there's something broken let them know about it so they can reproduce it and fix it. That's what the beta is for. I have let them know of a few bugs and they have been fixing it.

Again I might be wrong, but I get the impression that the developers aren't rushing to get this out before it's time.Perhaps they're finally going to learn from past mistakes,it's to be hoped so anyway.

*Watch as it goes final in the morning after I say that*

Already have a while back :) waiting for it in the next release.

I wouldn't know if it can be reproduced or not, but while running Paranoid Mode, without creating rules for safe/trusted applications, rules are added without consent to the Defense+ Policy. In addition to this, I still have a few samples that pass Defense+ as trusted/safe. However someone said that COMODO will be adding a new Norton type reputation rating for files in the future, definitely looking forward to that!

The issue of the samples becoming trusted have been already reported and I think that the next beta will fix it (I cant find it in the forum now :( ). Anyway I would apreciate if you can send me the samples.

I dont know about your problem with the paranoid mode but would be nice if you could report the bug here: http://forums.comodo.com/empty-t60360.0.html;new;topicseen#new

But maybe is because the rules for signed files are created automatically and also for almost all the windows components. You should have Unchecked in D+ settings "Trust the applications digitally signed by trusted vendors." if you want D+ alert you for all the applications.

Ya, if "Trust the applications digitally signed by trusted vendors " is not Unchecked, that Paranoid Mode is ? :)

The next beta release has just been made:

COMODO Internet Security 5.0.159634.1091 RC Released!
    « on: Today at 12:52:37 PM »

    Hi Guys,

We have just released COMODO Internet Security 5.0.159634.1091 RC!

What is new in this release?

FIXED! Antivirus scanning freezes in some computers during full scan
FIXED! cmdagent.exe crashes in some systems
FIXED! cmdagent.exe consumes too much CPU while application launching
FIXED! Sandbox shows alerts for non-existing applications
FIXED! D+ does not show execution alerts for commandline arguments
FIXED! Some applications do NOT work even if they are added to Exclusions list of Shellcode Injections e.g. Daemon Tools or licensing software.
FIXED! CIS consumes 100% CPU when the computer first starts and a new zone is detected
FIXED! CIS Firewall alerts unnecessarily for manually sandboxed safe processes
FIXED! IE8 can execute processes outside the sandbox when UAC is disabled
FIXED! CIS causes Pinnacle Studio 14 to crash
FIXED! CIS does not protect ProxyServer registry key
FIXED! CIS crashes during drag&drop of firewall rules
FIXED! CIS shows incorrect icons in firewall rules

The most important fix in this release is performance degredation fixes caused by antivirus scanning. It should now be observable in realtime. For example, while tagging MP3 files or doing something that requires file system traversal.
