hi Erik....hitman is flagging rollback rx file idle.dll as malware based on prevx engine but prevx itself is not. This is an fp which prevx had corrected sometime back.Just thought you'd like to correct it too.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

The Prevx Classifier we are using (which consults the Prevx cloud; which is the same as VirusTotal is using) is still flagging the idle.dll as malicious. I just checked VT. So Prevx did not yet solve the FP I think. I am unsure why the Prevx 3.0 client application isn't listing the file though :doubt:

I have flagged the file as FP in our database so it shouldn't turn up in Hitman Pro.

So splitting a-squared up in Emsisoft and Ikarus? Does that also mean you split GData up in avast! and BitDefender?

    But more important:
    1. Possible to turn of removing of cookies? CCleaner does that fine for me, also makes the scan faster I guess.
    2. Any time schedule for 64-bit beta?

HOLA EDIT: My eyes popped on the following, a Trojan was found and recognized as Trojan.Packed.189 but with the Hitman Pro icon in front of it. What does this exactly mean? Based on the behavior scan and not necessary to check at the partners anymore? Or Hitman Pro is making its own signatures or what? (In languy99 test of Auslogics Antivirus: 9:54)

Hitman Pro 3.5.6 build 100 BETA (32-bit only) Released

    Hello all,

Hitman Pro 3.5.6 build 100 BETA can now be downloaded from:
    http://files.surfright.nl/HitmanPro35beta.exe

    Release notes:
    • Added detection and removal of the latest TDL3 rootkit
    • Added removal of Tracking Cookies in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. You can disabled this feature under Settings. Removal of Tracking Cookies is of course Free. Note: This feature ONLY removes cookies related to Advertising.
    • Added AV Ballot Screen that appears when the computer is running without real-time AV protection.
    • Return of the vendor icons on the welcome page.
    • Authenticode certificates are handled on a separate thread.
    • Added automatic ordering of the scan results.
Activity is placed at the top, then Malware, Suspicious, EWS and then Tracking Cookies at the bottom.
    • Updated graphics
    • Updated internal whitelists
    • Updated Swedish language
    • Added Hindi language (thanks Avinash)
The AV Ballot Screen is added for users running without real-time AV protection. The screen allows users to choose an AV product from one of our partners and getting a Hitman Pro license for free (bundle). Also, we have changed the pricing of the bundles and more bundles will be added before the final release of Hitman Pro 3.5.6. The AV Ballot Screen is NOT displayed if you have either real-time AV protection, or when you have purchased a Hitman Pro license.

Per request, we have added the Ikarus vendor icon to the application. This icon is now displayed when Emsisoft Anti-Malware recognizes malware with the Ikarus engine.

Also, some of you have noticed that the Hitman Pro icon is showing up in the scan results. For quite a while we have been running an additional scanner in the cloud to see how it is functioning in the cloud environment. While still unannounced, the latest build now shows the icon of Dr.Web.
Note though that the Hitman Pro icon can still show up, this is usually Hitman Pro's detection for specific malware.

Please let me know if you find any issues or have any questions. Thank you for testing ;)

    Erik

    Hi Erik,

The Ballot screen in the new beta is showing Prevx as a purchase option, but its not listed on your website store. Is it still in the process of being added? I've been considering buying a Prevx license anyway and getting a free Hitman license as well would be awesome. :D

As I remember, erik said "a new BIG vendor" will be added, but DrWeb is a BIG vendor?:p

Or it tells us another "BIG" vendor(s) will be added too?:D

We are currently testing the new beta. When it turns out that the beta doesn't contain any issues, we will release it to general public. When that happens, a Prevx 3 bundle with Hitman Pro will also be available in our Shop (somewhere next week).

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

When a file is being uploaded to the cloud and scanned for the first time, the cloud sends response to the client when either (A) at least three vendors have detected it as malicious or (B) 15 seconds have elapsed (the client waited 15 seconds). Both (A) and (B) are for the sake of speed and to keep the client from waiting too long.

In case of (A) it isn't necessary to wait for additional scanner results as enough scanners deemed the file malicious. If you run another scan you'll see more scanner results. The three scanners that are listed were the quickest to respond to the request. This means either (1) their scan queue was empty and a scanner was immediately available to process the request or (2) the scanner is slightly slower than the others resulting it not being listed on the first run as the result was already sent to the client. Although the result is written to the database.

In any case, when you perform another scan, Prevx should be listed (their scanner is really good with zero day). If it isn't then the file could be older than 2 months (it was scanned by the cloud for the first time more that 2 months ago). Files older than 2 months are no longer rescanned in the cloud (on an eight hour basis).

To see whether Hitman Pro should list Prevx's detection you could also upload the file to VT and see Prevx list it their. If Prevx isn't listing the file on VT then we probably don't either. Same applies to FPs.

    Hope this helps.
