Thanks David, for this interesting bit of info and keeping us updated.
Will it be the promised freeware version? And did you have a chance to try the beta of it? How about the international/english build?
I will be curious to give this new released a good run and check the changelog, but will also surely be keeping in safe the "final" version 2.6.0 with its "lively" license for a while... Or did they follow with their money back offer?

Well, it would be nice of xiaoling if he wrote a note here or by email for its international Malware Defender and Registry Workshop (also lifetimed) customers.

    EDIT

yea there is a topic on the chinese forums about a trial version.
    http://translate.googleusercontent....le.com&usg=ALkJrhhDTkol_-b6KtMkupsLsc4qZlzqLg
but its difficult to understand the postings properly even with google translate.

would be nice if the new 360 MD vendors can come and post here.

I hope it has english version.

anyone know where to download trial version?

I am always suspicious of free versions because where is their revenue going to come from? If this 2.7 contains any built in tool bars, advertisng or spyware etc I'm staying with my registered 2.6.

but any way cant wait to try the 2.7

Thanks arran, and yes i've been using Win7 and MD since Win7 went RTM and the combo is flawless but with Win7 SP1 on the horizon... There's a chance of problems which had me concerned.

But it's great news to see 2.7 is going to appear (thanks David) this version is going to be interesting.. Maybe not many changes besides branding, but we shall see.

P.S. I tried translating the Chinese forum and it said MD "will protect my rice" :D

Win7 SP1 on the horizon, yes that concerns me as well, seen how it doesn't look like there is going to be any refunds Xiaolin or the new 360 vendor should release updates if there is going to be any conflict problems with Win7 SP1.

MD 2.70 will be released in 2 different languages, Chinese & English.

As proof, see also this passage of the email that i received from X. last week (16/4/10),
"...and I am really sorry that only English and Chinese version will be released".

    Bye :thumb:

Ah, interesting, thanks. Was it from an email exchange chatting, or did you received it as an email/newsletter?

Well I see that you also run SSM and its pretty hard to have another app loading earlier than it. There are some apps that allow you to change loading order (WinPatrol, Anvir TaskManager, Startup Delayer, etc.) but only to an extend. Btw, when I had both of them installed I forgot to check where MD stays in there... So maybe could you check this please, by opening SSM Process Monitor and have a looksee on the "Start time" column (by clicking on it to make it reordering the items)? It would also be a good way to verify the efficacy, or not, of the above mentioned applications.

I've tried that dl from 2 locations and 2 different systems. Barracuda, WOT, and Prevx SO say that is a malicious site (not the dl). What's up with that?
