My Windows 7 arrived today! What could be better I thought? Them sending me Win 7 Ultimate instead of Professional! Yippee!!
Oh and it's two disks, 32 and 64-bit installers.

I received my Win 7 Ultimate, 32 and 64 bit disks today via USPS.

Got my Windows 7 today also.

One more time, thanks to Wilders and Microsoft.

I emailed Microsoft about installation and just want to reassure myself here, I'm running Windows 7 Home right now, if I want to install Ultimate in a clean install with this disk, I just do a regular installation, right? There isn't anything special I have to do?

I installed the Windows 7 Home clean over my Vista installation and it worked fine, so if there isn't any different steps to take, I should be able to pull it off installing the Windows Ultimate.

Says "Promotional Disc" on it, but I hope that doesn't mean its a trial.

 

It just means it's not for sale/resale.

 

Win arrived today, thanks, but I have 1 question. What type of Win is it, like OEM, upgrade or full version, so can it be used only on 1 PC or can it be used like "forever"?

EDIT: Well according to ID X15-60567-01, it should be full retail copy, so it be used on multiple PC like when you buy a new one to replace the old one. Just want to be sure.

 

OK thanks, now I have to wonder, if I am going to buy Windows 8 once it is released or wait for Windows 9.

 

I won Windows 7 Pro but in the mail today I received 2 disks- One Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and one Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Can I install one on my desktop and the other on my laptop?

Also, on my laptop I have Vista basic 32 bit with 2 gb ram installed. Can I just install the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit over the top of it, or clean install?

Congrats to Everyone who won! I had a surgery & thought I joined the forum for the draw lol so with the medication for pain and the timing, I guess it wasn't my good fortune! Got my copy of Win 7 today also. Installed it on my computer but most of the hardware and stuff wasn't compatible so went back to XP. Looks like a build project coming up in the future. Hope where I activated it on this computer but didn't use it I can activate it on that one instead whenever I get it.
