    Thanks for the help.
However I'm not having any luck with this.
I went to Mozilla's forum and looked around and it seems that the bookmarks are in a file(I don't remember the name right now) and I tried just exempting the file and when that didn't work I tried exempting FF.
Still no bookmarks were there after I rebooted.
I'm starting to install a clean W7 64 bit right now and whenI'm done I've got to find a way to do this.
    Thanks again.

For FF exclusions in SD under Windows XP, you should exclude the Mozilla folder :

For Win 7 (64-bit), your folder may be C:\Users\ Your UserName \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\

Then all changes to your preferences and bookmarks are saved, even when running in ShadowMode.

    Hope this helps.:p

I found similar info at another site, I don't remember which one, but the referred to strings simply are not visible.
I've looked in C:\User... in both 32 bit and 64 bit but they are not there.
I am able to exclude Firefox 3.6 as a whole but that is self defeating.
Fortunately Sandboxie is working properly so I have it's protection.
    Thanks for trying.
    Have a great day.

    Thanks for letting us know.

This is an issue with FF when they use sqlite strings format for their bookmarks, making it difficult for SD to exclude a specific file vs a specific folder.

Enjoy your FF in SD and SBie ! :p

I wonder if a workaround would be to sync the FF bookmarks to IE 8 and exclude favorites in SD?

"This is an issue with FF when they use sqlite strings format for their bookmarks, making it difficult for SD to exclude a specific file vs a specific folder."

I have to ask how it is that SD has this problem because of FF and yet Sandboxie seems to handle it very easily with simple check boxes.
I'm not trying to be facetious. I'm still learning. I'm just curious.

SBie has excluded the bookmarks and places* files to allow direct access to its bookmarks.

You may then also try excluding the FF bookmarks and places* in SD to test if this will work.

I am not quite a FF user and cannot help you further than that. :p

    Source : http://support.mozilla.com/en-us/kb/Profiles

    Where is my profile stored?

Each profile is stored on your hard drive in a profile folder. The default location of the Firefox profile is %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\.

    * %APPDATA% is shorthand for the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ folder (Windows 7/Vista) or the C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\ folder (Windows XP/2000), which depends on your Windows user account name.

    Important files :
    Bookmarks and browsing history
    ------------------------------
    * places.sqlite - This file contains all your Firefox bookmarks and a list of websites you have previously visited.

    Passwords
    ----------
Your passwords are stored in two different files, both of which are required:

    * key3.db - This file stores your key database for your passwords. To transfer saved passwords, you must copy this file along with the following file.

    3.5/3.6:

    * signons.sqlite - Saved passwords.

    3.0:

    * signons3.txt - Saved passwords

For more information see Remembering passwords.
    Cookies

    * cookies.sqlite - This file stores your cookies. For more information see the Cookies article.

Try excluding bookmarks.html and places.sqlite in SD and you should be good to go !:thumb:

nana1-Thanks for the help. That's what I needed.

    ratwing-Thanks for the info.

I think what had me so screwed up was the locked files/folders.
