I just uninstall via the uninstall in the menu, and keep my settings when I upgrade. No problems

The Eset uninstall instructions say not to use Add/Remove when uninstalling. They want you to use the uninstall in the Eset menu via clicking Start.

Citing from the manual uninstall Sol Num,
That would be a correct statement.

Use the maual uninstaller with caution, please follow all of the steps as carefully as possible.

You should have no problems if followed correctly.

I have used this tool myself as have others, there should be no risk in loss of Internet Connectivity.

I hope I have answered all your questions to allow to proceed in installing a 4.x build.

As far as I know what they mean by resetting the Windows network settings it may clear the IP configuration of your network-card. In 99% of the cases the settings are for DHCP client (obtain a IP address automatically), which is the default option so no Internet connectivity will be lost afterwards.

If you have a static IP set, you may want to write it down before you use that uninstaller.

Of course they aren't same. V3/4 updates are much smaller and also contain additional signatures not supported by v2.

If you mean the signature database and modules, then yes. However, v4 has some additional improvements (e.g. better removal of resisting threats).

The changelog for v4 under the guise of
These would ostensibly be proprietary information.
