Ever since I installed ESET (version 4.0.314) on my computers in my office I have been having sporadic problems with my e mail (outlook express). I am able to open most e mails with no problems. The problem is that when I go back to look at certain e mails they won't open, or the body of the message has turned into a bunch of computer code (numbers and letters). Sometimes mixed in with the computer code are exerpts from other e mails. I am also unable to delete about 20% of the e mails in my Sent Items Folder.

One of computers is running version 3.0.650 and it doesn't seem to be having this issue. My operating systym is Windows XP and I am using Windows Explorer 8.

    Any help is appreciated

    Hello gsmitty,

There is a newer version of the software avaliable. 4.0.467 is the latest build and I recommend installing the latest to see if the problem still happens after that.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I installed the newest version 4.0.467 which seems to have resolved the problem with unreadable e mails.

I am still having problems deleting e mails from Outlook Express. I have tried several fixes from an article titled "An Outlook Express basic repair kit" but am still having the problem. Before it was just certain e mails I couldn't delete. Now I can't delete any of them.

Any ideas are appreciated. As you can probably tell I'm kind of a novice.

    Thanks,
    Gsmitty

Removed Off-Topic post. Let's keep the discussion focused only on ESET. Thanks!
