I've got high hopes for this given the quality of Advanced Systemcare and SmartDefrag :thumb:

Nice light application, uses a miniature blacklist data base, so have disabled file protection (only real time system protection and advanced mode=heuristics)

    See pic

In this mode only 4000-5000 bytes are read with every program start, so you will see the I/O growing only you wont't feel it in performance, with file protection the average I/O bump is 100.000 bytes (still not heavy).

Guys if you feel something needs to be detected or you have some zero-days please submit them here. There's a section for FP's on the forums too if needed.

By the way I am a moderator at IObit forums so I can answer most questions :)

Also, the database is quite small due to it being like that of MalwareBytes. It detects current and active threats, which includes rogues, worms, trojans etc.

    half666 :D

    Three questions

Are the tools already included in this beta (pressing them does not seem to activate anything).

Could you tell me something about the scope of protection (e.g. what system events triggers a check/heuristic)

What documents and files does the file protection check?

    Thx

    Kees

    Hehe nice list :D

The tools still need to be added so it is correct if they are blank, you will see more of them coming during Beta 2, 3 etc. As well as new additions to the product which will make it very competitive against other security products.

As for the second question I am not sure I will have to ask the developer.

The system protection is pretty much a very basic HIPS, it watches what files are interacting with each other and if they are changing something that shouldn't be changed.

The file protection uses the database and Digital Origin Gene heuristics (in other words blacklisting) for detection. It's just like the normal real-time protection of say...MBAM.

    Thx

I have played a little with it, the HIPS part seems to watch kernel objects and executables acquiring ring-0 priveledges through driver/services.

To be honest this looks like a promising application. I wonder what business model they are thinking of since it will be freeware (problably a paid Pro version).

    Regards Kees

    Hi 333halfevil,

I should like to know if it has real time protection similar to Spyware Terminator.

If so what items are protected:
    . Startup
    . Services
    . Winsock, BHO
    . Hosts
    . File extensions

    Thanks.

It is remaining free as far as I know :D

The HIPS protects Services as it tries to stop active threats. As for the others I am not sure - whether or not it does and to what extent, I will have to ask the developer :)

I receive the following userinit error when rebooting my computer. I have to remove the program for now.

Does look appealing. Any slow-downs, CPU spikes, while running it? :)

    Nevermind, Kees answered my question.

Smooth so far but I haven't thrown any malware at it yet. Clean GUI too.
