    Hi

Does anyone know how to stop ESS v4 from checking windows updates? I am using my notebook on a 33kbps dial up connection in the middle of the Sahara desert (ie VERY slow internet connection) so i've turned off win updates and also any notifications temporarily. Obviously i will update my Windows once i reach home in the UK and have a DSL connection. Yet ESS v4 moans at me me every now and again saying windows isn't updated and even lists some missing updates! How can it bypass my Windows settings? Please tell me how to turn off this annoying feature, i feel ESS is going behind by back when i have told Windows NOT to check for updates. BTW i am using Win Vista Home premium 32 bit.

    Cheers :)

Open the tray icon, press F5, look on the left side under 'Tools', 'System updates', and select 'No updates'.
