    The easy way is PetoUSB.
The difficult way is to use the "peinst" plugin of bartpe.
At the bios you must activate the USB legacy for external drives; and at the boot time press the key that activates the boot menu.
On my intel mobo boot menu, the flash drive is listed as another drive.

Anyone know what command line swutch to use to get rid of the below? I would like it so that DS automatically closes upon successful image creation (without using -G).

    Nate,

It must be related to the context menus. I don't use that method and ordinary DS batch files exit OK.

I don't think so. The only thing the entry does is point to the bat.

Okay. Thanks for that. I got confused because according to the website -W is only supposed to work for the scheduler, and I am not creating images that way.

yes and for everything but it useful for the scheduler if you don't want it popping up in your face and keep it running quietly as a background task thats why it mentioned for that.

i noticed in the DS site it mentioned to do a system restore you have to use DOS. well you can restore system image from BartPE as well.

It seems that DS automatically excludes PAGEFILE.SYS and HIBERFIL.SYS without you having to do so explicitly.

or if you dont use Hibernation at all then better still disable it altogether so the file 'hiberfil.sys' can be deleted.

    to disable
right-click the desktop and click on "properties"
    click the screen saver tab.
    click the power settings button
in the power options properties dialog box click the hibernate tab.
uncheck the enable hibernation check box.
click OK then click OK again
