    OA became unresponsive.
    GUI would not load.
    Got an error message. Something to the fact that OA was not responding.
    Turned off the firewall part and the hips appeared to work ok.
    No other FW installed at the time.
    I may try again another time, as I do like OA's features.

    @trjam

    Was Avira AV taxing your system's performance and thats the reason why you opted to pull it off or some other issue?

    I almost went for Avira this past week but instead stayed with NOD32 as an On-Demand Only assistant.

    This just cuts it don't it?

    A few really good security programs have been left to history but they still to this day serve an invaluable purpose, even in the face of all the new apps and updates of others.

    Over these past few weeks while experimenting with various combinations i been overwhelmed with complete satisfaction by at least this config. I'm sure there are many other various mix n match setups that do quite nicely also.

    ProcessGuard 1.50 has rekindled new interest for me insomuch that it is every bit a very STRONG! & RESPONSIVE! deterent as any safety apparatus going in spite of the fact it offers no registry protection. But that's OK, EQS covers file, registry, and program shielding. The two compliment perfectly. Although some times i can get a duplicate alert from EQS, PG is always "First" to jump to attention 90% of the time followed by EQS. Throw in ScriptTrap and add either MBAM/SAS or your choice of an AV for ST scanning, and that covers scripts should EQS miss any, which i'm happy to report is yet to fail to alert on. SandboxIE is a perfect compliment as On-Demand Only whenever the demand requires extra safe protection.

    Those 3 for me make up a SUPER SHIELD that's virtually impossible to breach provided the EQS settings for it's blacklist is sufficiently configured to LOCK DOWN all but the basic vital files required to run Windows normally without interruption.

    To further complicate matters for malware, theres a choice also between FF 3.1 Beta browser and the newest 0pera which IMO, both are very worthy competitors.

    So whatta ya think? No need for LUA/SRP and if the truth be known, EQS with it's blacklist is every bit if not more of a Limited User provider. Also no need for a Virtual System like Returnil although it's present on most all my systems.

    To make matters even worse for foulware, if need be, there's also the toss-up between alternating Behavioral Blockers in the newest ThreatFire & MAMUTU; the latter being my choice since it is instantly responsive!
