For those who have used KCleaner....is it more effective @ cleaning compared to CCleaner? Is it worth making the switch or is the beta versions not fully stable yet?

    Thanks.

Update: After running KCleaner, CCleaner found that Firefox 3 cookies + download information was NOT being deleted (along with a few other items) as seen below in the screen capture.

I ran KCleaner, rebooted windows and after coming back here to Wilder Security Forums....I was STILL logged in. Apparently it's not clearing ALL of the data in FF3.

Here is a few observations, If I scan with Kcleaner and clean then a follow up with ccleaner still finds more garbage to clean. If I use ccleaner first then follow up with Kcleaner finds more garbage to clean.Seems like using both is more effective then one can anyone confirm this or is this redundent.

One possible bug: after using KCleaner.....opening iTunes launches "windows installer" to configure iTunes. Does this every time after running KCleaner.

Hopefully the author of KCleaner can include any of the additional locations that CCleaner cleans (not currently scanned in KCleaner) in his program.

That would eliminate the use of CCleaner as a "system cleaner" entirely.

I usually use CCleaner or Empty Temp Folders on my XP sp2 system and if I use KCleaner after either one, nothing is found to clean (see my screenshot in post #56.

But it will also depend of how those cleaners are configured. E.g. for CCleaner, I have added some more items:
    ccleaner.png

That being said, I really like KCleaner last beta, it is very fast and does not cause any kind of problem on my PC.

I really hate having multiple apps that are for the same purpose. I'd like to keep either KCleaner or CCLeaner. Now the hard part is deciding which one to keep.

Here is the workaround : create the following folder :

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 7.7.1.11

    Kyle,

After running your Cleaner, then checking against another-there are still temp files left over in yours-other than internet temp.

The others choice as regards temp files are Windows Temp-Current Users Temp-All Users Temp. :thumb:

Hi Kyle, can you please add cleaning inside C:/users/username/Appdata

    and

    C:/System.sav

    and

    C:/windows/winsxs

There is always personal traces inside those 2 folders that need to be cleaned up.

    Thank you.

When I run KCleaner it finds this following entry for cleaning:

    Abobe Reader Installer Cache. C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Setupfiles\Jdgl1EgcEHkZvNRlw3Rb

I then press "Clean", and KCleaner indicates that its been cleaned.

However, if I immediately press "Analyse", the same entry appears again. This happens in an endless loop.

Why is that if it has apparently been cleaned?

Once again, FIREFOX cookies and download data (see below) are not being removed with KCleaner. Also the following locations are either not being cleaned or are not yet included (need to be added, currently being cleaned by CCleaner). Please ADD them in the next build/release. Thanks.

    -C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat
