There are many homegrown utilities that meet this criteria of being very new, not frequently used and not signed. The aren't necessarily malware....

avast! 7 runs on Windows XP SP3 and up through Windows 8 Consumers Preview edition 32 and 64 bit.
I also never received my key and testing without it doesn't make much sense.

It wasn't avast! or Alwil that had a vulnerability. It was the forum software that had a problem. It was avast! that stopped the vulnerability...
