Really? I cannot recall it reverts every 6th month but if you say so. True is that I'm forgetting more important things already...
Really. Coincidentally, with one of my systems, I got the Google Chrome and Google Toolbar offer today, with updating CCleaner. For my other system, the registry shows that I will get the offer next month. Have a look at your Windows Registry, at the mentioned keys.
OK thanks for the clarification. Anyway even with the additional offer two times per year people give it more importance than it is worth I think.
Yes, I think so too. But those that really don't want the additional offer two times per year, can take the Slim installer or the portable version, of course.
Sure and coupled with the clear and straightforward full installer (as regards the additional offers) Piriform acts very honestly, imo.
Ooo, you know what, I did have the portable version previously, no wonder. Those registry keys bug me, I didn't know this at all. I wonder if you can delete them via regedit without harming anything. Too bad CCleaner's registry option doesn't remove them--lol! When the portable version comes out-- I think it was stated in a week's time-- I'll reinstall that one.
The portable version is issued the same day as the standard installer. The Slim build is issued in a week time.
Version 5.23.5808 released (no slim version yet) http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds v5.23.5808 (18 Oct 2016) - Improved Microsoft Edge and Internet Cache cleaning - Updated Microsoft Edge Tab cleaning - Improved Firefox History and Session cleaning - Optimized Silent Update functionality (Professional only) - Updated various translations - Minor bug fixes - Minor GUI improvements
v.522.5724 (previous) portable, this warning directly correlated w/CCleaner. Now I wonder if new version will be more of the same. Anyone else see this w/W10 14393.321?
Yep, I just had CCleaner hang on one machine too. I clicked Cancel and that locked CCleaner up which I then needed to kill CCleaner in Task Manager.
The latest release on W7 corrupted the Recycle Bin (If I clicked on the Recycle Bin icon, Ccleaner opened). It also opened from its own icon on the desktop. I did a repair/reset of the Recycle Bin using command prompt/admin and restarted, but that did not get rid of Ccleaner in the Recycle Bin. Renaming the recycle bin and deleting it did not work either. Only when I uninstalled Ccleaner (the latest release) and reset the Recycle Bin, I got the Recycle Bin back on restart. I tested it by deleting a folder and it worked properly. I tested it again by re-installing the latest release of Ccleaner but it corrupted the Recycle Bin again, so I uninstalled it, reset the recycle bin and restarted the PC. I chose to re-install the previous version of Ccleaner and it did not corrupt the Recycle Bin.
its a 10% coupon (19,95 eur -> 17,05 eur). as a privat user i dont see much advantage buying a pro with doubtful background activities. but piriform reduced the price for defraggler and recuva for 40% (to 60% of original price), maybe a halloween deal.
