I was looking at my settings yesterday in one of my sandboxes and I have a question...In my media player classic sandbox, I have D:\ set as read only, now do I want to leave it on "all programs" or make it for MPC only via "add program"? I am assuming "all programs" means any program running in the sandbox right? Just checking :)

How you set it up depends on what you exactly want to do. 1. If you leave it as you have it now, no program running in the MPC sandbox can make changes within the sandbox to files in D.

    2. You could also set it up so only Media player classic can make changes to files in the sandbox, 3. Programs other than MPC can make changes in the sandboxed environment but not MPC. And 4. Do nothing. I go with #4 but I think based on what you wrote above you probably want to leave it as you have it set (#1).

And when I block access (in IE's sandbox) to my D:\ drive, I don't get the added string below like before?

I cant tell you about the KS settings (I dont use Chrome), but allowing access to QWAVEdrv is a new setting, enabled by default in new sandboxes you create. In old sandboxes you have to tick it yourself. You can find the setting in Applications>Miscellaneous. It was implemented in SBIE version 5.12. The setting was created to solve an error that users might experience when visiting Google hangouts and possibly other sites.

Supposedly the error can happen with any browser but I have never experienced it using Firefox or IE. So I don't tick that setting. I think its mostly for Chrome. You are using Chrome, use it in sandboxes you run Chrome and you can disable the setting in your MPC sandbox and the rest of sandboxes where you don't run Chrome.
Thats not added anymore like before, it was done away with in 5.14.

For users of Applocker, there are problems with the current beta 5.15.3.
I experienced the same, "%PROGRAMFILES%\SANDBOXIE\SANDBOXIEDCOMLAUNCH.EXE" was prevented from executing.
Solution: Either revert back to 5.15.2 or do the "workaround" mentioned in the sandboxie-forum.

That program needs a reboot to finish the installation, that wont work with SBIE.

Sure does. The program wont work under SBIE. Even if it worked, in my opinion, that's not the kind of program to be installed or run sandboxed at all. Maybe being able to test it sandboxed would be OK but you cant do that with it either.

Hi bjm. The Always on Top setting is working fine in my W7 32 bits computer. If you tick the setting, SBIE Control stays always on top, visible. You can test it by opening the browser, open SBIE Control with the new setting ticked and you'll see SBIE Control remaining as the top window when you move from webpage to webpage.

I think this is a useful setting. Good for seeing whats going on in the sandbox when testing programs that users report having issues with. By the way, I asked Curt for this setting and he was nice to implement it.

Something else bjm, we can now make Sandboxie Control smaller or larger by pulling at the sides or corners, before, SBIE Control was one size only. Nice improvement .

Strange. In my case SBIE always have had this feature like almost any other decent program...
FWIW I'm on 5.15.3 right now, haven't updated yet, and I can resize SBIE Control this way.

Yes, you are right, I remember now, thats been like that forever. I was thinking of the Sandbox settings window which is one size and one size only.
