Since the 2015 seems to be dead. I thought of creating one. Currently running the AV in trial mode, not a big fan of the GUI but who cares. The initial signatures update took well over 5 minutes on my 100 MBPS Down connection. Any thoughts about this? I like how the AV only has no HTTP scanner. That's all I need, a file scanner with nothing that may or may not cripple my internet connection. I hope it's stable and doesn't have any quirks. They are ranked pretty well according to the latest VB100 report:
Used it for a while. it worked well until it decided to delete system files and bork my computer. won't use it again.
hmmm, that's not good. Can you share more details on that incident? What did their tech support say about that? I mean, did it just randomly decide to delete system files or whatnot?
PC Magazine reviewed the 2015 ver. here: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2476376,00.asp with the comment that malware detection quite good. Rube didn't care for the HIPS as noted below since it appears to be "tightly configured." Good for those w/tech smarts and bad for the average user.
I just sent an email to TrustPort's tech support asking them how to disable scanning of newly inserted devices. I received a reply within 15 minutes. Excellent support:
I just sent TrustPort's support an email asking them about my license and if I want to reinstall the AV after a format how is it handled. They replied within 5 minutes telling me that I am free to do so as they monitor how many computers are using the license at the same time. Nice to know that I don't have to deal with de-activating the license and any re-activation limits. Great support I always get a reply very quickly.
I have been preaching how good it is for 2 years. I realize BigC had issues bit that can happen to anyone with any product. Personally it is what I use and works very well.
Hopefully no one else will have the problems I had with it. I actually liked it until Armageddon came down on my PC.
got my refund today. I got more FPs than I consider normal and adding them to the exclusions is not very easy
I tried downloading Sphere antivirus on one of my computers, just to give it a try, but the download was very slow and I just gave up on it. Don't know what the problem was. Maybe I'll try again later.
It's just a slow connection to their server. If you use a download manger to download it will be quicker.
I used Internet Download Manager and it finished the download in about 3 mins. The problem though is, when I tried installing it, it kept giving me errors that X file doesn't exist, retry or abort so I just ended it and won't bother again. buggy installer turns me off trying an Antivirus
