Not sure why not simply clicking "don't ask again" is all you need to do. Again, if it's done all correctly outside the SB, then it shouldn't ask but once. And as anyone can see from the change logs, there is nothing done that would affect Chrome. http://beta.sandboxie.com however, unless you have something specifically that was addressed in a Beta, one should be using the stable version 5.10, since these are beta's for a reason.

    Thank you for your answer.
I've never had those issues before I updated Sandboxie to version 5.11.8. In one of my postings, I specifically took a snapshot of my Chrome, opened with Sandboxie 5.11.7 - No issues.
As soon as I installed Sandboxie 5.11.8, I've started having those CONSTANT request to confirm that Chrome is my default browser.
Yes, I can click "don't ask again", and it goes away but only TILL NEXT TIME I open my Sandboxed Chrome.
It's not a big deal but it would be nice to find WHY it's happening to my 5 computers - Sonny, ZT, Dell - with Windows 10 and Sandboxie 5.11.8.
And it's only when I use Chrome.

Zmechy, maybe there is an issue between Chrome, Sandboxie and W10. Read the post below, my post before that one, and a few before mine. :)

EMET doesn't inject into FF using right-click. You need to use 'auto-force' or launch from a sandboxed 'explorer.exe' for EMET to work

how are you launching FF into the sandboxes without it set as a 'forced program' - are you just using 'start.exe' in your shortcut target...

does using "drop rights" provide any security benefit when using a Standard User Account?

My everyday Firefox, the one I use most of the time, launches as a Forced program. For my dedicated YouTube and streaming sports sandboxes, I created sandboxed shortcuts and placed them in my task bar. So, when I want to run Firefox in either of this sandboxes, I just click the right shortcut and Firefox runs in the correct sandbox. And the other two, I run them via the Sandboxie icon by right clicking it, hovering the browser over the sandbox and click Run web browser.

Its very simple, easy to get used to. By the way, I read your posts at the Sandboxie forum about sandboxed shortcuts. As you can see, I combine using forcing programs and sandboxed shortcuts in my everyday usage of SBIE. Just because I use the paid version, doesn't mean I wont take advantage of using one of the best features in SBIE, the sandboxed shortcuts. I am very happy of the way forcing programs and sandboxed shortcuts work, great design. The design is what allows me to use both features in my everyday usage of SBIE. :)

new profile is out of the question. Although I know its a very common advice to keep telling people to scrap their profiles :)

As it turns out after I unticked all the boxes in HMPA for cyberfox protection the issue stopped, so now I will turn them back on one at a time to find the culprit, so seems its a compatibility issue between HMPA and sandboxie.

Cyberfox is already configured for direct access to the data folders and ramdisk (temp folder).

You can create a new profile without scrapping your old one, or have multiple profiles and specify which one to use. You would have to google for the how as I do not have to to look up the details at the moment...

I know, and this has been done in the past when fiddling with other firefox issues.

But since I have diagnosed its a HMPA conflict why would I want to use a new profile?

As I Said making a new profile is out of the question, it would only end up as a duplicate of my existing one,as I would migrate configuration and session across.

FYI: users using beta 5.11.8 should continue to do so, unless they are experiencing odd ball issues. There may be an issue w/ Chrome (stating it's not default, even though it's set on the host) we're trying to confirm if it's with .8 and Chrome and Win 10 or a some other weird combo. 5.11.7 seems to be fine..... v5.10 is the stable version, but unless you need Office C2R support and other changes, then that is a fine version to use. You can see the complete change log here http://beta.sandboxie.com

Cyberfox works just fine in any beta and 5.10. And yes, a new profile is part of the troubleshooting steps and resolves many issues..that and not running 3rd party security products that are known too or be suspect in causing SBIE issues.

Is nice you figured out the conflict. About testing new profiles when you have issues related to the browser. Creating and testing new profiles is a tool. In the particular case of Sandboxie, when you have issues running your browser sandboxed, sometimes this issues are due to a conflict with an addon or perhaps settings are corrupted in the old profile. Thats the reason to test running the browser with a new profile. If the issue goes away with the new profile, is easy to figure out where the problem is coming from.

By the way, for the future, you can test a new Firefox or Cyberfox profile all done in the sandbox. For Firefox, use the path below to create a shortcut fo run the Profile manager sandboxed, right click the Desktop>New>shortcut, copy and paste the path.

    "C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\Start.exe" /box:All "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -no-remote -P "NewProfile"

The path above is designed for the Firefox Profile manager to run in a sandbox called All. In your case, for running Cyberfox, change the name of the box and instead of using Program Files\Mozilla Firefox, change it to Cyberfox or whatever Cyberfox folder is called in Program files. Running the Profile manage in the sandbox works best in a non restricted sandbox.

Reading this thread over the last few days, it seems to me that sometimes users of Sandboxie lose sight of what a great product it truly is. Thank you Invincea, and thank you Sandboxie, for making such a great and protective product available to home users. It is one of the best values ever in security software.

I think its fair to mention this issue isnt occuring on my laptop which has the same sandboxie config. I forgot cyberfox was running on there, but it has under sandboxie for a couple of weeks uptime. So I definitely agree with an extension maybe been the cause since cyberfox is protected by HMPA on my lappy also.

@zmechys, 5.11.9 should fix your issue. And @Moose World, I think you should test this beta. :)

Is there any way to automate unloading of SbieSvc.exe before shutdown of PC...

I have noticed a Warning in Event Viewer, and it pops up whether SBIE is loaded with Windows or when a program enters a sandbox. it pops up at PC shutdown time...

Event ID 1530 - User Profile Service
Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.
    DETAIL -
1 user registry handle leaked from \Registry\User\S-xxxxxxxxxxx:
    Process 1036 (\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Program Files\Sandboxie\SbieSvc.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-xxxxxxxxxxx

I have also noticed, that it does not pop up if a sandbox is not activated. Since it is only a warning, and some reading up on this has assured me that nothing is untoward... just curious to see if there was an option or something that can unload the exe after sandboxes are closed. Thanks.

Hi marzametal, I never seen that warning message related to Sandboxie. The only times I seen it has been when I have reset my W7 to factory, and I uninstalled some of the programs that came with the laptop. I noticed I would get the message with some (not all) of the programs after uninstalling them and rebooting the PC. After I am done uninstalling and installing programs, the message never appeared again in Event viewer. And like I said, never in any way I seen that message because of using SBIE.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/947238

Edit. I searched for Event ID 1530 at the SBIE forum and found this thread from 2010, its the only one. The suggested solution was to install the latest SBIE version that was available at the time. No response from the user stating whether that got rid of the message or not. If you are not using 5.11.9, I would give it a try or, uninstall Sandboxie, and reinstall again. You can also go back in beta versions to pinpoint the exact version with which you started getting the message.
