kernel 3.13.0.62

Im currently using linux lite 2.8 with the 3.13.0.62 kernel.Does this kernel need to be updated or can i stick with this version.?

It looks to be supported by Ubuntu Kernel Team until April this year, so you're probably okay until then.

Maybe an updated kernel will be available after that time, but I can't say for sure.

Linux Lite 2.8 is based on Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS.
Is it already EOL ?

I'm running Lubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. Have you been offered a kernel update?
What do you see with
sudo apt-get update
followed by
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade?

 

If the Kernel is being maintained somewhere, I think it's fine to use it.

 

Its the kernel version that came with the distro.

 

Then it's being maintained somewhere I hope. And isn't this Kernel also being used on Ubuntu 14.04.3? So you have two organizations maintaining it.

 

Mint 17.3, which is based on the same distro, presently uses 3.19.0-32-generic.

 

@fblais, do you get any output with dpkg -l | grep linux-hwe-generic?

my ubuntu 14.0.4 updated today to 3.13.0-77

 

I ran sudo aptitude full upgrade in the terminal on linux lite and it updated.I wish lite had the same kernel updating function as mint.
