OK. While waiting for TeraByte Support to reply could you do this? Disconnect the Win7 and Win8.1 drives from the MB. Make sure Win10 is booting OK from the 128 GB SSD. Connect the new SSD to the SATA port Win7 was using.

Boot IFL. Click Settings and make sure you have Automatic Boot Partition Update selected. There will be numerous others selected too. Do a Copy. In Options use these, no others...

    Scale to Fit
    Change Disk ID and GUIDs
    Omit Page File Data
    Omit Hibernation Data
    Log Results to File

After the Copy completes, shutdown. Disconnect the 128 GB SSD from the MB and move the 256 GB cable to the SATA port the 128 GB SSD was using. Start the computer.

I note you have 6 drives. One is the IFL boot disk. What are the other 5?

OK, for the Copy, disconnect all drives except for the 128 GB Win10 and the new SSD.

    mantra,

Great news. What do you think caused the failures? Did you have other drives connected when you tried to boot from the new SSD?

Did you use this option in your failed attempts?

    "Change Disk ID and GUIDs"

mantra, I'm pleased it is working. But I'm not fond of your method of multi-booting. I assume you are booting from a BIOS menu. That means each OS can see all other OS partitions when it is loaded. That could have something to do with your recent issue.

If you use BIBM as a boot manager then no OS would see any other OS when it is booted. That is much safer. A drive Copy or image/restore would work without drives having to be disconnected from the MB.

    hi
but i prefer to keep the thing simple
i boot via bios , f8 and go
and you told me that bibm need to be in the fist hard disk , sata port 1, i would like to install with all its files on a different drive , not where i have my operation system

    mantra,

It might be simple but as explained above it is not a good way to multi-boot. Cross talk between OS isn't ideal and they should be hidden from one another.

BIBM only uses an 8 MiB partition. Negligible space.

Only from people who don't know what they are doing.

It is a very reliable app. In fact it is my favourite piece of software. You can do so many great things with BIBM.

There is but I'm not going to help you do that because it puts an EMBR on HD0 anyway and makes a simple program unduly complex. I install the BIBM partition to HD0. HD0 gets an EMBR no matter which way you do it. If you install the BIBM partition to say HD3 then HD0 and HD3 both get an EMBR. Now you have 2 EMBR when you only need 1 EMBR with the standard install.

in the screenshots you can see that windows 10 fresh install create a partition at the end of the disk about 1mb
but copying from the source to the destination this partition of 1mb is gone
    why?
    thanks

    mantra,

It's not a partition. It's Free Space and is of no consequence. Probably to maintain 1 MiB alignment at the end of the partition.

It's not a problem. The Microsoft partitioner can produce "different" results.
