I'm using EAM and that seems to get on well with Heimdal's latest beta 2.1.1 . No issues at all to report.

Thanks all for your replies. My current AV licence will ends soon. I will definitely consider EIS and Heimdal.

2.1.2 here now. These latest betas seem to have resolved all the issues I had previously, with the exception of IPv6 support.
I'm glad because I like the principle of this software; it's light and unobtrusive and a good add on to other security software on this PC.

I've had this happen. Heimdal support's advice is to stop and then restart the Heimdal Client Host service. This seems to kick the prog into updating.

faircot, I tried stopping , then starting the client and that doesn't seem to work for me. what is it on my computer heimdal thinks should be updated?
If I turn off patching the GUI goes back to normal so am guessing heidmal is looking at the programs in the list even if I have them un checked and wants to update them?

As far as I could see, it is referring to the patching system. With each update it is set to on, even if you had previously set it to off.

Paul I think you are correct. I looked at my patches and heidmal was patched on 2-12-2016 and so that does explain it. I was editing my last post when you posted lol

I have a 6-month trial license for H Pro and have been trying it. I can honestly say I don't know whether it's worth it to me or not.

For some reason, I've noticed that it seems to slow down my internet connection when used. Also, Norton keeps reporting the "Secure.dns" operation as suspicious activity. I've uninstalled and my internet speed is now back to normal.

Since uninstalling H Pro returned my speed, I can only surmise that the Heimdal program's filtering was affecting page loading (drastically, in some cases). Has anyone else noticed similar?

Not here. I don't see any difference in speed. You might try it with out Norton.

Heimdal is 100% compatible with any antivirus solution on the market, so you shouldn't experience any issues at all if you choose to use them simultaneously.

    Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. You may want to check other programs installed other than Heimdal, because our team actually worked a lot to make performance improvements in order to keep Heimdal as light as possible on your system. Should you experience more such problems, I recommend you email my colleagues at support@heimdalsecurity.com so they can help you figure out what the issue is and correct it.

    Thanks!

Thank you everyone for the kind feedback!

With each new beta release, our team strives to improve performance and solve issues that you may have experienced too.

About the patching system: in this beta release we made a change to help new users get acquainted with how it works. They will see a mini-tutorial in the patching system tab that shows users what they have to do in order to choose the apps they want Heimdal to patch. The patching system will not patch any software by default, so the user will have to check what he/she wants patched automatically.

There are going to be consistent improvements in the next few months, so I hope you'll be here to enjoy them!

Thank you once again and have a great week ahead!

    Andra

Without meaning to seem at odds with your posts, Ms. Zaharia, I will say that in my case, at least, Heimdal Pro does seem a bit confrontational with my full version of Norton Security Suite. When using Heimdal, Norton's SONAR activity guard repeatedly questioned me as to whether it should block the "Suspicious Activity" of Heimdal's "Secure DNS.exe". This prompting seemed to occur at 3 or 4 minute intervals, whatever that may mean. This happened when accessing such innocuous websites as my email, banking or forum sites.

Please understand, I'm not saying anything negative about your software. Of course, I was certain that there was no actual "suspicious activity" regarding H Pro. I just mention this as it might help your support people make the program more harmonious with all AV programs, or Norton at least.

I will say that for me, at least, my internet page loading is back to normal sans H Pro. There have been no SONAR prompts. Perhaps Norton and H Pro just don't play well together. At any rate, thank you for letting me try your program!

    Regards, Kyuzo.

ScreenHunter_02 Feb. 16 18.05.jpg I had to Marcum my computer because of a bad other software install.
I reinstalled Heimdal and this look funny. Look at Lic expires and days left. 01.07.2016 and days left 136 days. HUH?

    Hi Kyuzo,

Thank you for the kind feedback. I'll share this with my colleagues from support so they can talk to the Norton team and sort this out. If incompatibilities arise, we always discuss them directly and fix things as fast as possible.

Thanks again and have a great weekend,
    Andra

Indeed, we use the European date format, hence the confusion. :) I'm glad it was all sorted out.
