Interesting, I thought it was signature only as they don't mention behavior analysis anywhere.

My only issue with Sophos Home so far, is that, like Bitdefender free in the beginning, it seems to auto clean/delete items with no way to restore them. A FP forced a reinstall of Battlefield 4 already.

Hello everyone! I'm Alex and I work at Sophos. I just wanted to clarify something I've seen pop up multiple times on this thread and other places. Sophos Home does in fact include signature-less protections, including HIPS. We completely agree that you need more than signature-based protection, which is why we included several sophisticated detection methods that you see in our business products in Sophos Home. @Nevis I noticed you had this question in particular. @Spokesman thanks for helping to clarify in the thread. Just wanted to make it official. We're currently working on making this more obvious to everyone using it.

I was running Sophos and had to remove it to check something and when I tried to reinstall I got this message.

Forgot to mention this earlier, for all you HitmanPro fans out there, Sophos Home is designed to work side-by-side with HitmanPro. You probably noticed that Sophos Home has you remove your other AV software before installing, but if you are running Hitman, you shouldn't have this issue.

I guess you mean HitmanPro Alert?

Yes, sorry for not making that more clear. I noticed earlier in the thread that @rollers is running a trial of HitmanPro Alert with Sophos Home and said things were running smoothly. Feel free to correct me if I misread.

    Hi

Could you explain as to how it is designed to work with HMP.A more specifically.

Let me talk with our development team on Sophos Home and see what granular information I can get for you. I might not have anything ready until next week though.

I already said that several pages ago, browsing slowdown, overall slowdown : affecting other programs with a delay/lag, open a folder with .exe files and it takes a long time to render all the icons.
But problably they are working on fixes/improvements as we speak.... performance on some computers are not that good.

I did run both but am now running just Sophos as I find it has everything that I wanted and needed and is rather good at stopping the bad stuff all by itself. It did run well however when run in tandem with HPA, I had no issues with it

I reinstalled Sophos home yesterday, it seems it has a new installer size 187 MB.
Maybe because of this bigger installer (offline) ? i don't know, fact is Sophos working/running much better than previous attempts i did with this small installer (14,7MB)
No real slowdown and much lighter , happy!

Spokesman is right, when we come out with newer versions, it will auto-update.

After talking with the development team, they told me that they are coming out with some graphical explanations in the near future to help explain the inner workings of Sophos Home. They confirmed that HitmanPro.Alert will run perfectly with Home, and the details of how will be forthcoming in the graphical explanations.

Excellent news. Sometimes graphical representations can help users to better understand things.

Ok, looking forward to it. I am courious about if it really is working better with HMP.a then other similar products or if they really mean that it works with it without problems.

    Thank you Alex !
