@WildByDesign Thanks for this info. Updated, Google-less Chromium with simple on-demand updater - what more do we need? I will test it in VM as soon as I get some time. It's also nice to see some sites still get 0 blocked requests from uBlock Origin with 3rd party scripts and frames blocked.

hi for the news thanks!!! Hi , does the portable version update extensions? i using sometime chrome portable with few extension never seeing a notification about an extension update and does it use the adobe flash plugin that i can download or is built in thanks
mantra, Chrome is not my day-to-day browser. I only use it to check Web sites that I build. The only extension I have installed is AdBlock Plus, and the lists do update automatically, without notification. Typing chrome://plugins/ in the address bar shows that my Adobe Flash plugin is up to date: Version 20.0.0.306, and I believe it's built in.

Does anyone else hate the slow mouse scroll wheel implementation? I find it very frustrating. Is there a way to increase the amount of lines scrolled?
They enabled smooth scrolling per default now. But i don't think the speed can be changed. To disable it: chrome://flags/#disable-smooth-scrolling ------ And extensions are not shown in the omnibar anymore with this new version
I don't see the big deal, they just show next to it, and you can hide them by right-clicking them > Hide in Chrome menu.
I thought it was odd that I had some extension icons show up on the top right of the toolbar just prior to this latest update a couple of days ago. I right clicked on them and hid them, and now they show at the top of the main menu. If it happened after the update I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but it was before...
Exactly. That happened maybe a few days before the release of v49. I remember that all extension icons were highlighted and there was a message: "here are your extensions, you can now simply hide them" or something like that. I closed chrome, right after that i opened my portable chrome and there i see the same message again.

Anyone else having trouble with the latest channel and ramdisks? I have my sandboxie container set in my R: drive (RAMdisk) and generally, the cache folder appears however, as of this release, the folder is no longer present. Even after deleting the contents of the sandbox and restarting, the Default folder, which is naturally located in C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data, still will not be redirected into the RAMdisk. (the only folder from the program files folder that does not move) the only way I was able get the cache to appear within the RAMdisk was by adding --disk-cache-dir="R:\Sandbox\NAME\DefaultBox\user\current\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data" after the target string. That being said, I've also noticed UMATRIX seems to crash upon start up half the time when making these changes.
Looks like I found my error, I had the container set to a previous RAM disk location, which I unmounted and of course would not accept the Chrome data. Solved
