I tested things several different ways. Uninstalled Flash, turned off and back on several extensions and finally regressed back to Firefox 43.04. In the end, regressing back to 43.04 does the trick. Everything works perfectly with 43.04. With 44.0, FF crashes in SBIE. I have read of a few bugs with 44.0, so I assume they have made some significant changes to the code. For now, I'll coast with 43.04 and see what comes next...

Posted over at SBIE's forum about my FF 44 issue. They suggested I delete my old sandbox and create a new one. And that did the trick. Since I had updated FF I just assumed that was the problem. But obviously my SBIE sandbox had issues that just hadn't appeared before.

Bad news! The FF crashes aren't gone after all. I'm digging around to see if I can find any answers...

You should try a new sandbox. Create one, leave default settings, except setting it up to delete on closing, and run Firefox 44 to see what happens.

Another reason I use this build is because of the stability regarding 64 bit plugin compatibility.

Compatible Changes different from Official Edition
    1) Remove the plugin restriction in x64 edition ( back out Bug 1165981 )
    2) Restore distribution/bundles support ( back out Bug 1144127 )
    3) Restore general.useragent.override.[domain] support ( back out Bug 896114 )

    Important additional fixed official bugs
    FIX { [Page Info]Save As (download) doesn’t work when two or more media files are selected at the same time }

Hold off till post 44 releases... v44 isn't all it's cracked up to be. Errors disappear when rolling back to 43.0.x
Best off skipping 44.0 and waiting for a 44.0.x or for 45.

As the old saying goes: You can wrap a piece of **** in a tuxedo, but at the end of the day, it's still a piece of ****.

I'm testing 64-bit FF 44 for now. And this time, I've also decided to pare down my extensions to a minimum.

At least FF 64 in SBIE is not crashing anymore. The only thing it's doing badly that only happens here and there, is when I close FF, the sandbox doesn't always close. Most of the time it does though.

I agree that FF 44 is a bad build. Buggy!

All running well for me in XP and W7 32 bits with 5.07.6.
When you close/Exit Firefox, if the processes that remain running are SandboxieRpcSs.exe and SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe, report it in the beta thread at the Sandboxie forum. If this is you case, this might be an issue that affects computers like yours and not hard to fix but reproducing it is tough for Invincea without you supplying the specs of your computer.

On the other hand, if the process that remain running is Firefox, you could add firefox.exe as a Leader program in Sandbox settings. Sometimes doing that helps and sometimes it doesn't.

By the way, I know you had tried a new sandbox before I suggested yesterday to try one again. I made that suggestion and added to use the new sandbox with default settings. Using and testing the new sandbox with default settings is important when you have an issue. After a couple of days, if all is well and then you make changes in Sandbox settings, remember what you change, and then if you get the problem again, then you know the cause of your issue.

I've read recently Sandboxie turns off EPM. Is that EPM in IE11 Security Zones and or EPM / EPM for 64bit in Advanced...?
Does Sandboxie do anything to Smart Screen Filter...?

Sandboxie disables PM in Internet options>Security. You dont need to make any changes yourself. If you dont, when you open IE unsandboxed, you ll see PM On and ticked. And when you open IE in the sandbox, PM will show unticked and Off.

As far as I know, nothing changes with Smart screen filter.

Yes, Protected mode is not compatible with Sandboxie.

I've saved and tested Autofill login creds for Sandboxie Forum outside sandbox.
IE sandbox'd does not see Forum login creds.
Do I need Direct Access to wherever IE saves Autofill or ?
How may I work with IE11 Autofill sandbox'd....?

Bjm, I am not familiar with password managers but what you wrote looks to me what you need to do. Its likely the same things you do to get the PW manager working with other sandboxed browsers is what you need to apply to IE. How do you set the PW manager and SBIE so the PW manager work with other sandboxed browsers? try applying the answer to your sandboxed IE.

You should search at the Sandboxie forum. In the last three or four weeks there has been a few threads about Last pass, Sticky password, etc.

Okay.... I was thinking if I move to Windows Defender then I'd move to IE for Smart Screen Filter. I'll need local IE password manager. And KeeForm plugin is circa 2013. :( I've got KeePass+KeyFox okay. Thanks
    Manage your credentials.PNG
maybe creds are stored encrypted in registry tied to site url...?

Stable version 5.08 has been released. This are the changes. And the links to the installers.:)

    http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?VersionChanges#v_5.08

    Version 5.08
    Released on 16 February 2016.
    • Improvements to application startup. Applications start faster and Windows 10 race conditions have been fixed.
    • A problem with splwow64.exe in Win 8.1+ 64 bit has been fixed. If a user printed from inside the sandbox using a 32 bit app, printing outside the sandbox would no longer work.
    • Office 2013 in Windows 10 is working under Sandboxie again.
    • F12 Developer Tools now works in IE-11.
    • In rare instances, SandboxieRpcSs.exe or SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe would not end when all other applications had exited.
    • A file named c:\program.exe no longer prevents SandboxieRpcSs.exe from starting.
    • The known conflicts list in templates.ini has been updated.
    • Fixed wrong Windows version # reported for Windows 8.1 (e.g. with http://whatsmyuseragent.com/). Windows 8.1 was reported as Windows 8.0.
    • Windows 10 fast ring build 14251 "IsHungAppWindow" hook issue.
