Yes I am using admin account I hate those with lower privileges. If an executable try to do so I have lovely NVT ERP (layered security, remember?).
See PM for the Minecraft test.

So we've been experimenting with ImDisk and the problem is that when we use a Windows API (GetVolumePathName(driveletter)) to query the ram disk, we do not get a valid path back. So our guess is that they are not registering their disk properly with the OS. Tests with another Ram Disk with this call returns a valid volume label. So we will improve our GUI to test for the Volume Path Name and if we do not get a valid value, we will warn the user that they cannot add the rule.

So it looks like the consensus is that you don't want to block jar files, and that we should just Guard java*.exe? Is that what I'm hearing?

At least not from me, I am not saying AG shouldn't block jar files. I really don't know the difference it makes whether to block or not jar files though, from the security point of view.

I don't think .JAR files should be completely blocked. I think their danger can be mitigated by Guarding javaw.exe. I think java.exe, javaw.exe, and javaws.exe should be Guarded. I'm not sure if anything else from Java should be Guarded. Those are the ones I always Guarded when I used Java. I think if .JAR files are completely block it will cause users to disable AG to execute them, and then they will be completely without AG protection which defeats the purpose.

Is anyone with java installed seeing java on their Guarded Apps List? I just rolled my machine back to a time before AG was ever installed. I then installed Java Runtime Environment. I rebooted once. Then I installed AG build 4.3.9.1. Java is not listed on the Guarded Apps List anywhere. I'm using Window 7X64 Ultimate.

I didn't expect you to say Window 7X64. I'm using Windows 7X64. I thought you would be using a different OS than I. Now i'm really confused. What version of Java are you using? I'm using Java Runtime environment 8 build 73.

AG just blocked something to do with the Java Runtime Environment lol I guess it's a GUI bug. It's being Guarded, but not showing up in the GUI.

Yes, i'm not showing any on the Guarded Apps List. I think it might be a GUI bug.

AppGuard does not like my machine, or another application running on my machine is interfering with AG.

The only thing i'm using right now is Eset Smart Security, AppGuard, and Malwarebytes Anti-exploit. That's the only real-time Security software that has ever been installed on this Windows installation i'm testing with.

Eset Smart Security uses the same thread that AG GUI uses during boot. It causes a minor Glitch on my system, but it has never caused a problem like this before that i'm aware of.

That's what I was going to guess. I played with Bouncer, and it caused more trouble then it was worth.

AppGuards GUI seems to be a little bit strange on 3840x2160 screen.

    Edit:
Found another bug: If you add a publishers to the list under user space, then set to not guarded, save settings, then and activate the "Install" under the Level column, then the selected level doesn't get saved. It will revert back to "--" after closing the window.
