Hello all, Pardon my ignorance and any criticism will be taken as constructive. My scenario revolves at a Hitachi 2.5 HDD, that went full tilt. Upon examining it with WinHex all the sectors read: 55 4E 52 45 41 44 41 42 4C 45 etc. Is there any way of recovering data from this hard drive? Thanks in advance.
Well... if you can see and read the DATA you've told us about, there's a good chance it can be recovered. As Pete mentioned, we need more information... System, disk part #, exactly what does "full tilt" mean as far as a failure mode is concerned. Anything you can tell us would really help.
Well... I did Your DATA above from your supposed broken drive translates to... UNREADABLE. Methinks you may be playing games here. Tell us more if you would like some help. If the above HEX DATA pattern is really written all over that drive (every sector), then, "fer shur," that drive is UNREADABLE.
I'm always suspicious of a first time poster with a "too technical" question. Especially when the poster makes no further posts.
Sorry have classes in the evening and children during the day. I cannot remember what lead to this issue. I have encase which I studied several years ago that is why I get the hex read out. So no go on the data recovery with this display of information?
