The majority of it, yes. It is not fully complete yet :). But you will see EAM will pick up a lot of stuff it didn't used to.

Installed EIS about a month ago on a windows 10 laptop. All was great for a few weeks then I started to notice that the program wasn't updating regularly and now there's no automatic updates at all. Updates have to be done manually. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

No issues of updates/windows updates here (WIN10 and EIS latest version).

From what I read on there forum they will release beta updates to fix the problem...I guess it's a case some people have problems and some don't.
EIS,Hitman Pro paid and MalwareBytes on demand.

Some people reported that the error messages go away when they exclude the a2service.exe process from the Malwarebytes Web Protection. You can do so under Settings, Web Exclusions, Add Process.

I think this sucker is actually faster than Windows Defender was now. Granted I have the Surf & Behavior guards both disabled, and only the File Guard on. And I just ran a full scan for the first time 2 days ago, then left the File Guard set to only scan new & modified files... and now things are even snappier. Don't even notice it. I think that made it even faster... I can only guess it has excellent caching.

And for somebody that doesn't want to go through the trouble of using a HIPS I can see that BB being a very nice & user friendly alternative. I checked it out, and was tempted to just use it instead + UAC on my Win7 box. I'm in the process of recommending this to all the people whose boxes I work on... that it's worth spending a few bucks on. With the File Guard, Surf Guard (web scanner), and BB, combined with the Windows FW it makes for a great all-in-1 solution for people that can't or won't take the complicated steps to lock down a box that I would... people that can't/won't even use an outbound FW, which is practically all of them.

Interface/options very straightforward and simplified. Of everything I trialed this is the closest thing I've found to my idea of what an AV should be in these days. Can't say enough good things about it. Please keep it like this and focus on improving what is there + defs., not adding features.

After reading lucid's post I did a full scan for the first time and this was the result -

    Scan type:
    Objects: Rootkits, Memory, Traces, C:\, D:\, E:\

    Detect PUPs: On
    Scan archives: On
    ADS Scan: On
    File extension filter: Off
    Advanced caching: On
    Direct disk access: Off

    Scan start: 10/8/2015 6:20:33 PM

    Scanned 228181
    Found 0

    Scan end: 10/8/2015 6:22:20 PM
    Scan time: 0:01:47

It scanned everything so fast ? I am on SSD but still the whole pc in under 2 minutes ..wow

We try to take advantage of modern hardware if the user has it. So your time is not that unusual.

Non-beta ver. 10.0.0.5735 has it. And I believe cmd parser is it. EAM still not monitoring .vbs execution and the like.

The support for script interpreters and host processes is inside the stable version already, correct. VBS is supported by the way:

    vbs_parsing.png
To give you a full list of what script interpreters and host processes are supported at the moment:
    • cmd.exe (Batch scripts)
    • cscript.exe (VBS, VBE, ...)
    • wscript.exe (VBS, VBE, ...)
    • mshta.exe (HTML applications)
    • regsvr32.dll (DLLs)
    • mmc.exe (Management Console Plugins)
    • regedit.exe (Registry scripts)
    • regedt32.exe (Registry scripts)
    • rundll32.exe (DLLs)
    • rundll.exe (DLLs)
    • powershell.exe (PowerShell scripts, currently incomplete due to the many ways PowerShell can be used for scripting)
    • msiexec.exe (MSI installers)
    • java.exe (JAVA applications)
    • javaw.exe (JAVA applications)
There are a few missing, but I think we cover most of what is shipping with Windows.

I tested using a script running from %AppData%\Temp. EAM BB didn't detect it. Actually that executed PowerShell, so I guess I will wait on that one.

Does EIS protect the system from botnet attacks and any other advanced attacks?
Does its firewall have any advanced protection besides the protection offered by Windows firewall?
Does it have any protection against attacks in the network level like IDS?

Or are these kinds of protection exist in the BB rather than in the firewall?

I'm actually asking this in light with what ESET Smart Security has.

    • Yes.
    • EIS FW global and application rules are quite good, plus the firewall GUI\alerts are probably the best that I have used.
    • No. Emsi does not adhere to deep packet inspection, IDS, etc. It is just a rock-solid application firewall.
    • Primary protections are Surf Protection, File Guard and Behavior Blocker. Firewall can be configured to block Unknown applications.

    Thanks for the answers!

Does this mean that EIS can't stop network-level advanced attacks?
I also have AppGuard and HMP.A. Should I be worried?

Just curious as to where you find that setting. Under Protection/File Guard I don't see such a setting unless you mean the scan level being set to balanced where files are scanned when they are modified.
