I gave it a run. Much improved. There are still rough edges but it's usable and it was good enough to motivate me to play with it some more.

Yes exactly, I didn't expect it would take this long to get at this point though.

Yes of course, but I'm a lot less skeptical than a while ago, after this release. In a couple of weeks it will be better than Chrome, and it's already better than crappy Opera.

    https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/vivaldi-browser/1518-portable-version

I read the complete 2 pages & what I could gather is during install select advanced setup - standalone install - This is portable install but not truly portable i.e move the install folder & there will be probs with running Vivaldi, etc... as its potable install is kind of tied to the initial standalone install location.

So for portable Vivaldi install on the system choose standalone install & select the install location & after install dont move the install folder... you have Vivaldi portable on the system, right?

When I click "open link in new tab" it automatically switches to the new tab... Is there an option to not automatically switch to the new tab?

Ad Block plus works normally. All the Chrome extensions have worked since the last few builds.

On my old XP Pro SP3 box, Adguard (free) works fine. uBlock Origin is a problem child right now. When enabled it will work for fine for that session, but when browser is closed and re-opened, it has been automatically disabled. When attempting to enable again, a message box appears: " The newest version of "uBlock Origin" has been disabled because it requires more permissions". Below that the message continues with: " It can now" -Read and change all your data on websites you visit, -Change your privacy-related settings, -Read your browsing history". Followed by options to re-enable or cancel. This has been going with TP4 and now the last 3 Snapshots.

Would the assumption be correct that this is a chromium based browser?

Good Afternoon! Agree totally zfactor...ascribe to the KISS...Design School. I like Vivaldi a lot ! And will use it much more at a future date...once the bugs are ironed out. Sincerely...Securon
